local indonesian promotor has been trying to get familiar with the band current news and histories instantly after the gig contract signed. first time web announcement of dt live in jakarta they (or media perhaps) still quoted the presence of portnoy, but they revised it after then.
following with the rumors of dumb statement 'dt's currently promoting anti drugs-alcohol-cigarette campaign, so that it won't be possible to deal with those kind of corporate product sponsors' to explain the condition of super expensive ticket prices sold to the fans. but otherwise changed in fact after d minus 21.

What is it with noobs and bumping ancient threads?

I'd imagine they are looking through the pages of old threads for something to read and reply to.

Well yeah, I get that concept, I just don't know why someone on (presumably) one of their first visits to the site would read through years worth of topics and then bump some long-since irrelevant thread. It also interests me since this behavior is exhibited almost universally by new members.

Yes. They're called trolls. Their only purpose for signing up is to do silly things like this. And, for the sake of equality, I'd like to point out that not all newbies are trolls, by any stretch of the imagination.

JP makes guitar strings smoke. Seems like a fitting sponsor.

Man, I was opening this thread thinking that DT has got a new show announced in Indonesia that may lead to an extended Asia tour.  I am disappointed.

I think if more people ask them to go to Indonesia that could happen.

I specifically avoided this when I made an account.  When I was lurking I read through just about every thread back to around page 60, but didn't reply to old threads when I joined. I came to the logical conclusion that dragging up topics about things that where discussed 3 years ago and have long since been forgotten would be irritating. Especially when there are side chat threads designed so that someone can bring up whatever stone age topics they want without it getting in the way of threads about things members are actively conversing about.

It's 3am and I'm clapping at the screen.
