I know there have been loads of polls recently, but this is a pretty straightforward one and I've been wanting to do it for a while already. Why?

1) Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Awake has an obvious fan-favorite song. Voices probably comes close, but there are also divisive songs like Scarred and SDV.

2) I know we've had the DT Survivor, but there hasn't been one in the past couple of years, and you were supposed to vote for your least favorite song there anyway. Besides, lots of new users have joined since then.

3) A lot of songs have obviously been played on the current tour, and seeing them live (or even seeing live videos) may have changed some people's opinion on them.

In case you wondered, my favorite is SDV

My first thought was The Mirror, but then I remembered Voices exists. Which is easily the best part of Awake. 6:00 and Caught In A Web a pretty bossin' too.  :metal

Funny, I found it much easier to think of a favourite on Awake, I&W I have to sit there for a while, and I still can't pick out a clear favourite. I like the other parts of Awake for different reasons but it definitely has more stand out songs. I like the direction they were going with this album (and even FII after it), but I can honestly say, Awake would be soo much better, if it had a different mix. A more modern mix even, it's just a bit too raw. Which might be an aesthetic appeal to some but I don't really have the nostalgia to appreciate it like that. For example, to me, Awake songs come off with a much fuller sound in live versions. (Which is weird because you think Live would naturally sound more 'raw', but the production and instrument tones seem richer.

LSOAD by a nipple over Scarred.

Scarred by a nipple over Space Dye Vest.

The nominees were 6:00, Caught in a Web, Erotomania, The Silent Man, Lie and Space-Dye Vest.

Ended up giving it to Erotomania. Very neat, a nicely crafted little song.

Voices has always been my favourite. Great lyrics, vocals and one of JP's best solos. Along with Scarred, it's the only real standout track on Awake for me. The rest of the album is incredibly consistent, but the other tracks are all just 'good', rather than 'great'.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

BlobVanDam

I don't think there's one clear standout track on the album, so it would probably be a really tough call for me between CIAW, IF, Voices, and TSM. For now, I can't decide!

jakepriest

Scarred. Voices is my least favourite.

ThatOneGuy2112

Voices and Scarred have been fighting it for my top spot recently. I give the slight edge to Voices though. It's a little more consistently wowing to me.

Jaffa

Caught in a Web, with Voices and Scarred not far behind.

Tis BOOLsheet

The thing about Awake is that although most of the songs are good, none is really great. None of these songs really stands out from the others for me. I went with Erotomania because I feel it's the strongest song from start to finish.

It's pretty close between Scarred and Voices, but the former gets the very slight nod.

If A Mind Beside Itself was considered one song, it'd probably get my vote.  In fact, it would probably get my vote for best DT song, IF it were considered one song.

Scarred by a nipple over Space Dye Vest.

I read that as you scarred your nipple while listening to SDV.

I was gonna be all like "dude... I know it's a gloomy song and all but... damn"

The Holy Tune

I somehow knew it was going to be between Scarred and Voices mainly, as Scarred is first and the other is second. And how I knew it was because I love Scarred and my friend(who got me into DT) loves Voices ;D

jammindude

Scarred and Voices are up there.   But my big fight for top spot is between The Mirror and Lifting Shadows.    I went with The Mirror by a hair.   After that, Scarred and Voices are probably 3rd and 4th.

Oh yeah :coolio. Btw, you didn't include Eve .

Well, he didn't include To Live Forever either... but neither one of them are on the album...

?

I thought Scarred might beat Voices and looks like that happened :coolio

Exactly - bonus tracks don't count. In fact, I don't think any edition of Awake includes TLF.

Because it's not on Awake.

1. Scarred

2. Voices

3. The Silent Man

RuRoRul

Scarred is an easy winner for me. Next would probably be The Mirror or Voices.

However, Scarred is by far my least favourite out of all the songs that are my favourite on their respective albums, if that makes sense. So I'd agree Awake lacks an obvious standout song, both in my own opinion and in the general fanbase opinion - Voices and Scarred kind of split the vote as the DT epic of the album (and I know there's apparently a bunch of people that hate Scarred for some reason) and there's a few other songs that appeal that have a niche appeal as favourite song, but not enough to become a majority favourite.

Space Dye Vest. I like Voices, but not that much.

Eve

just kidding it's Scarred
turns out signatures are fundamentally broken now so here's my passive-aggressive signature about signatures instead

ReaPsTA

Like a bunch of other people, I voted Scarred.  Some of the rawest lyrics in DT's catalog.

I had to go with Innocence Faded.  I heard this album for the first time in March and 6:00 and Innocence Faded were the only two songs I liked the first time I heard them.  I have to put Innocence Faded slightly higher.
