So I was just randomly thinking, if you could take a TD album and compare its tracks to food, how good would the meal be?
What kind of food each song represents is obviously up for interpretation, but that's what hopefully would make it fun.

So as my first example, BCSL:

A Nightmare To Remember - Big, thick, well done steak. It's meaty, it takes a while to finish, and it's a little tough, but ultimately leaves you satisfied.

A Rite Of Passage - Pint of Beer. It's simple and satisfying. Nothing fancy, but still nice and filling.

Wither - Popsicle. It's a bit cold, but a nice, sweet snack non the less.

The Shattered Fortress - A big, thick burger. It's meaty, but also has a little bit of everything in it.

The Best Of Times - Oatmeal. It's got some nice flavors in it, and a lot of substance, but ultimately, not something I'd call a great meal.

The Count of Tuscany - Medium pepperoni pizza for one. It's one of those pizzas that's nice and big, but you just can't stop eating it. By the time you're done, you feel like you never want to eat again, but every part of it was absolutely delicious... Even if at times you felt like parts of it had a bit too much cheese.

So that's the idea. Let's see how other people interpret DT songs as food.

A Rite of Passage is like broccoli: it tastes pretty good at first, but it doesn't take long for me to think, "Why I am bothering with this?"

If The Mirror was a Big Mac, Lie would be the pickle, the little thing they stuck in there that you need to remove to enjoy the burger.

TheGreatPretender

If Lie was a pickle, it would be like one of those big, crunchy, garlic flavored pickles. Absolutely delicious!

I've never heard of anything like that, but that's not the pickle they put on Big Macs anyway.

Well, a Big Mac is an unhealthy and shallow experience that, delicious as it might be, is ultimately regretful, so I wouldn't say it applies to The Mirror.

The analogy was only to demonstrate Lie's relation to food, rather than The Mirror's. The Mirror would be more like a homemade burger.

But if I were to make a homemade burger, I'd be putting one of the awesome, crunchy, garlic flavored pickles on it.  ;)
But Lie is more like crispy fries.

You're weird. :lol
If Lie is a side, it's more like coleslaw.

Coleslaw is awesome! ... Slawsome!

BlobVanDam

Oh I give up. :lol Your culinary opinions are stranger than my musical ones.

TheGreatPretender

Well, I think most of us can agree that if Raw Dog was food... It would be raw dog... something nobody wants to eat.  :lol

Stream of Consciousness is liked an unevenly cooked pizza: the first couple slices are almost fully cooked and mostly delicious, the middle few are uncooked and unnecessary, and the last few are cooked to perfection.

Ytse Jam. This one's kind of obvious.

This thread is awesome.  If I&W were an NBA player it would be Michael Jordan, and the new self-titled album would be LeBron James.  I'm not sure about foods.  Basketball comparisons are easier for me, lol.

I always thought The Mirror was tequila

Build Me Up, Break Me Down is like some Chili I had at Stratford Day a few years back. You're hungry at this point and eagerly wolf some down, but as it moves down the esophagus/chorus, you find that there is no flavor, only screaming.
