I feel like Enigma Machine is getting a bum rap on DTF, but it's also liked by many people. Are the haters a loud minority or is this song actually disliked by the majority of the community? Let's settle this!

When I first heard the album, this song stood out the most besides IT and it clicked so well with me that I listened to it three times in a row. It also aged well as I still like everything about it, especially Jordan's organ sound and the drumming. In many places, it reminds me of NES music, which brings in the sweet childhood nostalgia angle. Oh, another great moment is when Jordan's solo picks up after the first bass break. Can't wait to hear it live!

Jaffa

Probably my favorite song on the new album.

DarkLord_Lalinc

I haven't seen the haters myself.

Went "yay!"

Kotowboy

Dream Theater ?

I Love 'EM  :neverusethis:

I love both the instrumentals.  :tup

Shadow Ninja 2.0

I'm voting "yay", although my real answer is closer to "it's alright".

BlobVanDam

It's ok, but not one of their better instrumentals.

King Postwhore

Lower end for instrumentals for me.  Though I love the rest of the album.
"I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'." - Bon Newhart.

Lucidity

I like it, but I think it's a great disappointment and an overall average or below average song.

bl5150

I voted nay - in the context of listening to the whole album I get through it without skipping (as it's short enough) but it's not a track I would ever select to listen to when shuffling tracks.....so I suppose that means I don't like it .  Indifferent towards it might be more accurate.

Anguyen92

I like it, especially the part at around the 4:20ish mark.  It reminds me of something, I can't remember what though.

TheGreatPretender

I love it. I think it's one of their best instrumentals. It's always twisting and turning (and leaving a sense of MORE yearning) and doesn't overstay its welcome.

Tom Bombadil

I'm really not a fan of EM

?

aprilethereal

Not one of my favourite DT instrumentals, but I really enjoy it when I'm listening to it. So "yay".

dparrott

Haven't we covered this already?  This is deja vu all over again.

Zydar

Great song, one of their best instrumentals.

Onno

It's okay. It's my least favourite instrumental but it's enjoyable and I'm sure it'll be cool live. I voted 'Nay!' though since it's not really a 'Yay!' for me.

haceeb

i love Enigma Machine, Mangini is the best. 2013 was his, 2014 is his.......

Jinx

I love the song on the album and from the looks of the videos, it is gonna be fantastic to see live!

wolfking

I think it's a great addition to the album.

nikatapi

Still not feeling it. I was expecting a crazy rhythmic track, but i was disappointed by the outcome.

adastra

Not really liking it :< Can't really pinpoint what is wrong with it.
But yeah, Worst song by DT.

fibreoptix

Eh, it's hardly bad, just entirely unmemorable to me. Seriously, I try to recall it and the only part I can even vaguely remember is the intro riff.

When I first heard it I thought it could have been the music to Metal Gear or something, and False Awakening Suite belongs in a Zelda game. I enjoy Enigma machine, but I don't love it by any means.

Kotowboy

FAS actually made me think of Final Fantasy Boss Music.

PROGdrummer

Made me think of Twisted Metal on the original Playstation.

1995 were good times

ErHaO

I like it! It needed some listening sessions though. At first I was not too impressed. I like FAS better. DOE still remains my favourite instrumental.

Dublagent66

Nay.  The song contains references to BC&SL material.  Not a good idea.  What happens on BC&SL should stay on BC&SL.

RoeDent

Yes, absolutely! Wonderful song!

Phoenix87x

I just not that into it.

rumborak

It used to be that instrumental time was happy time in DT world (Erotomania, Trial of Tears, Dance of Eternity etc.). But looking at Raw Dog and Enigma Machine, it seems that might be a thing of the past.

Nekov

Nay! The song doesn't make any sense, it doesn't have a good flow and frankly seems like they're just throwing stuff in there because they can

I may have a different version of FII because in mine Labrie actually sings in that song :neverusethis:
