Nice to see Impermanent Resonance on JP's list!

My first thought too! Great album, so I'm glad to see someone else in DT appreciate it too. :D

Cool lists, some stuff on them I have never heard of, so I'll have to check those out... Certainly is cool to see Impermanent Resonance on JP's list and also Alter Bridge's new album Fortress.  Alter Bridge have been one of my favorite bands for years, so its great to see that JP appreciates them as well!

Its funny to me that James' number 1 album is Red's new album... I thought that Release the Panic was, by far, their weakest studio release.

I like it.  It makes my top 10 for 2013, but I will probably rank it toward the end of my top 10.

Interesting to see Killswitch Engage on a couple of those lists.  I'll have to give them a quick spin.

Nice to see Trivium on John's list.  :tup

Yeah it certainly isn't a bad album by any means, I just really liked their previous releases and this one was sort of a let down for me, so it was just surprising to see it as his number 1, that's all.

Agreed, this was one of the ones I haven't heard any of yet, definitely want to check it out! Their older material has kinda been hit or miss with me.

You read my mind. It's awesome to see Alter Bridge on there! One of my fav bands as well.

I agree on Release the Panic... I was very disappointed as well.

Does anyone wanna copy and paste the lists onto the forum? I can't follow the links at work :(

Yeah, that was a pleasant surprise.

I was also surprised to see Steven Wilson on JLB's list, I didn't know James digs his stuff. And it was weird seeing The Raven at number 10 on Jordan's list, but I was relieved when I read that there is no particular order.  :lol

Outcrier

Nice to see Kveikur and Tomorrow's Harvest (actually some of the best albums of the year) in JR List  :tup

It's good to see that JR has Haken in his top ten.  I was beginning to wonder if any of them knew they existed.

Did you not see this then?  :D

I've only heard 3 of the albums on that list - Haken's, Tesseract's and JLB's - though they happen to be 3 of my 4 favourite albums from 2013  :tup
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

I think James' is, because the "no particular order" text didn't appear at the end of his list.

Crow

My taste is apparently most in-line with JR. Heard four of those and a fifth I plan to get this month. Funny since I seem to like his work in DT the least out of all the band members  :lol
turns out signatures are fundamentally broken now so here's my passive-aggressive signature about signatures instead

wtf born of osiris

I listen to a lot of death metal.. Born of Osiris is one of the more technical, melodic groups in that genre.

Ravenfoul

I love how bored Jordan looks. Also great to see he mentioned Ayreon.

TheGreatPretender

So, if JP liked Impermanent Resonance so much, any chance he'll try and come up with better vocal melodies for the next DT album?

 What's wrong with vocal melodies in the new album?
Absolutely nothing, they're beautiful and creative, while IR is boring and repetitive.

No it's not. IR has so many amazingly catchy melodies. :tup

Perpetual Change

JR's lists are always good indicators that he's not a big metal guy.

Probably why he sounds so much better to me on Levin Minneman Rudess and the last few Steven Wilson albums than he has on any of his DT records. He just seems more in his element.

Accelerando

Alter Bridge's Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy both listed DT12 in their top ten lists as well

Implode

Haken. x1000

You will not be disappointed.

I'd also recommend that Ayreon album, but that's a bit more controversial.

chrisbDTM

i love that JP listens to a lot of the heavier bands that I like

BOO, Tesseract, he had Veil of Maya and Periphery last year.
