Does Cyndi Lauper need Hooked on Phonics or is she drunk or something?

I think she over medicated today.

AngelBack

I think that group just vocalized an extended, unison Mangini!

Nice to see Sound City's Real to Reel won one of these.  Plus Butch Vig is getting the award.

AngelBack

And Rick Astley for the lifetime achievement award...

Anguyen92

The mood in the pre-show is so depressing for some reason.  I can't put my finger why though.

Is it sad that I'm rooting for the winners based on how funny the names of the acts or albums are?

so uhhh the best metal performance?  :lol

I wonder when it's going to be announced.

Anguyen92

There was a link on the Grammys site that popped up that had a list of the categories that are going to be announced for this thing.  The Best Metal Performance is around the last five, so this is going to be a wee bit long of a wait.

wasteland

Who the hell is this girl with ridiculous red hair?

Anguyen92

Get on with it, lady.  It's never a good sign when a host says, "I f'ed up.  I messed up.  I'm never getting this job again," etc.

AngelBack

All these stodgy old white guys just love this rap dude....

Shadow Ninja 2.0

I think they've suckered you guys into watching the Grammy's. :p

If anyone needed anymore proof that the GRAMMY's are total shit, Thrift Shop just won 2 awards, and he won for best rap album.

Yes, they did.

On a side note, I thought Holy Grail would win best rap song (I heard that was a popular track or something) and I shutter to hear the reaction if Yeezus won.  I don't want to hear the news of his reaction on my Texas rock radio show since they talk about Kayne any chance they can get (though they do bury him a lot).

Lucidity

I'm so happy that Snarky Puppy won!   My favorite band behind DT!

as I've sort of said a few times tonight, I find a Grammy to be a worthless award that has lost any integrity it once had as it's become completely commercialized and given to popular people, and awards are not based on the art of music but sales. That being said, the only reason I care if DT wins it is because I really want them to get some public recognition, and a Grammy is big in the public eye and in the music world so it'd be good publicity for them.

Also, Cyndi Lauper is a horrible host. She's sloppy and just annoying.

Anguyen92

A bunch of old looking guys playing some kind of a bluesy song.  That's fine by me.  I rather have something like that than most performances on this thing with the exception of the idea of a Nine Inch Nails/Queens of the Stone Age/Dave Grohl/Lindsey Buckingham performance.

I love how half of the winners aren't even there.   :lol

That's because they are going to be there when the bigger awards on TV comes up.  They feel too egotistical to show up on a pre-show like this, honestly.

RoeDent

Clearly they're paying tribute to DT by using their record label's definition of the word "soon" when it comes to announcing Best Metal.

Anguyen92

I'm picking Led Zeppelin for best rock performance.

Edit: F************************.  I hate that radioactive song.

OsMosis2259

It should be very soon.
Best Rock Performance was just announced

All right, f*** this thing.  I knew DT wouldn't win anyway, but I would like to dream of that.  Nothing wrong with that.

This is how I feel atm.
