Are JP's backing vocals on LALP the ones we actually hear?

I'm going with The Song Remains the Same here.....
Never heard that opinion before.

You've never heard TSRTS rated highly as a live performance??  I think a lot of folks from my generation would think it is.  Based on sheer recording quality of the media, I'm sure there is better.  There's been  a helluva lot of advances in recording and digital media since 1973.  My comparison was mainly pointed at someones comment about Purples' Made in Japan.  While I grew up with that performance, and absolutely love it, I thing TSRTS is superior.  I don't know how it was in North Carolina (or is it South??) But in SoCal we lived on friday night midnight matinees of TSRTS.  It was just EPIC!  And still is IMHO.

As far as the Post Production aspect, yeah, I'm sure TSRTS probably had more.  I never felt that there was a lot of overdubbing, but honestly not sure.  I'm not a tech wiz  ;D  Bottom line is It's my Fav.
