Apolgies for another DT12 thread, but I want some stats on this.  Which format of DT12 did you buy?  For me I think the deluxe edition was a wasted opportunity and I don't get why they just gave us a 5.1 mix.  I have no use for it and so I just got the standard cd.  I also was not a fan of the booklet pasted on the cover on the digi.

I have left this open for multiple votes incase some of you crazy mofos picked up more than one format.

?

I wanted the jewel case, but I bought the digipak because only those were available at the store I visited on Friday.

YtseJamittaja

Standard edition because I have no use for 5.1 mix.

+1. I don't even have a 5.1 system, so a bit useless.

Lowdz

The 2 disk edition.
I don't have a 5.1 setup but it was the signed edition.

I also dislike very much the booklet being stuck into the digipack. I want to hold the booklet, not the damn box.

Awesome album though.

The first store I went to was sold out of standard editions but had heaps of the digi.  I guess that shows a lot of people found the deluxe version useless.

I held out and went to another store and they had a few standard versions left.

Juular

The 2 disc edition. I have a good stereo and a good surround setup and will listen to both versions.
I figured I wouldn't use half the stuff in the box anyway, so I didn't really need that.

Jewel case. I hate digipacks with a passion.

I was going to get the standard version because I have no way of playing 5.1, but the deluxe 5.1 version was only like 60p cheaper on Amazon, so I thought I might as well get it as it's not impossible that I'll get a 5.1 system sometime in the future!

Ordered the box set and after hearing the album, I've made the right choice.

The Letter M

Box Set, but I may also get the standard 1 CD set as well, as I have done with the last two albums.

Just the standard for me. I'm waiting to see if there will be an HDTracks release though, I'm definitely interested in that.

No love for LPs? :(

Signed CD+DVD and (unsigned) LP for me. I wanted to get the box set, but that won't happen. :-\

TheAtliator

I wish the deluxe came in a jewel case  :-\ I hate the stupid paper cases, they get ruined so easily and depending on how it's packed, it's sometimes more of a hassle to get the CD out of the case. Of course that wasn't gonna stop me from getting the 5.1, but still. I LOVE that they're releasing the album in 5.1!!! Hope they continue to do that!

I got the deluxe edition. Would have gotten the box set if I could afford and I had a record player.

In my opinion, DT screwed the ball with the deluxe edition. Maybe a video or documentary would have added value since a lot of people don't have a 5.1 system. At least with a video, you have the incentive of the video and being able to play it on your dvd player.

Kotowboy

The 2 disc should at least have had the Docu on it.

Just the album again in a largely unplayable format is a bit lame.

This. My BCSL digipack is so worn out that it looks 20 years old. :/

I'll be getting the standard edition when the album comes out on Tuesday (it seems so weird to me that everyone is treating that album like it's already been released when the US street date has yet to arrive). I have no use for 5.1 and I hate digipacks. Like I'm really thinking about buying second copies of both BCSL and ADTOE just so I can have those albums in jewel cases that will actually last. My copy of BCSL especially is somewhat beaten up.

GasparXR

I bought the standard jewel case edition, which came with a digital version, so both technically. :P

BlobVanDam

Since the majority bought the deluxe version, it would be interesting to know how many bought it out of convenience/availability etc, and have no use for the 5.1 mix. It seems only a minority actually have use for it, even out of those who own it.

TheAtliator

I certainly bought it for 5.1. I would definitely suggest to anyone to buy music in surround sound whenever you can. Even though I rarely listen to it that way, it's always the superior format when I do get the chance to.

Jewel cases feel dated and cheap to me. I bought the box set, but if I wanted one of the smaller versions I would absolutely buy the digipack.
