Don't be so rude.  Honestly, believe what you want about the music, but the vast majority of KP and MC fan posts are more respectful than what you just posted.  While Miley's video is just awful, the song actually isn't bad (I personally don't care for it, but I can see why those who enjoy pop music more than I do would like it).  And there is plenty to like about the KP song and the video, whether you can subjectively identify with it or not.  The DT love is obviously appreciated, but don't be such a snob just because you happen to dislike a particular style.

I definitely agree with Bosk. If you go to the General Music Discussion here, you will find that many people here like pop (including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, etc.).

Hell, I've seen Katy Perry live! My favorite band is Dream Theater, and all of my big favorites are prog and/or metal, but just like Dream Theater's music, my tastes aren't one-dimensional.

I've grown up with it constantly blaring down my ears whether it being in school or radio or just friends, I've stated my opinions and they will stay that way, if anyone cares to discuss this further I'm a PM away because this is getting a bit off topic, but if you wish to PM, go ahead.

I don't disagree with your larger point about some pop (and other music as well) being exploitive and marketing sex to youngsters.  But (1) just because a lot of pop may fit that category doesn't mean that all of it is, and (2) again, the actual song and video in question are actually quite good.  In general, I don't really like KP at all. A big reason is some of the stuff you mentioned.  But have you actually watched the video in question or listened to the song?
