Yeah! great news!  I was waiting for something like this  :yarr

?

I didn't expect them to release another song prior to the release date, because it isn't that far away anymore, but this is cool and I'll definitely listen to AFTR when the stream becomes available :) Hopefully it's better than TEI, because I found that song disappointing and underwhelming.

Releasing two songs isn't unprecedented, they released CM and TDEN for SC promo.

?

Yeah, but I wasn't expecting another song at this point, because the album will be released 2 weeks or so from now.

Mosh

Wouldn't be surprised if the whole album is being streamed the week after.

Sounds great, I can't wait to hear it. I loved TEI.

This is a huuuuuuuge step in a good direction in my opinion already with TEI as I just never really got into ADToE.

Thematt202

Gonna wait until I can listen to the whole album.

aprilethereal

Really exited, especially since I love TEI :caffeine:

Hmm, I think as it will actually be the 10th when we get it here in Australia, because of time difference, and the fact we receive the album for retail a few days earlier on the 20th, I might just leave it with TEI, and listen to AFTR nice and fresh with the entire album.. :-)

Nice, I'm definetely in the will-listen camp. Interested in how this song will be after the track-by-track interview.

NICE. I was hoping for some more entertainment before the album release. Glad to see we're getting some!

Really looking forward to hearing it again.

I wasn't expecting a second song to be honest so this was a welcome surprise.

From what you remember how do you rate it against TEI? Better? Worse?

As far as I know, they are totally different, so why don't you just wait until you can hear it and judge for yourself :tup

ProgressiveIce

I didn't listen to TEI, so I won't listen to AFTR either.
13 days left... :metal

It's kind of hard to compare those two songs now cause I've only heard AFTR once and I've listened to TEI at least 20 times by now. I'm almost completely certain that my opinion will be that AFTR is better than TEI. Like I said immediately after the listening party; TEI will probably end up being my least favorite song on DT12. These two songs are not similar at all so that also makes it kind of hard to compare them.

So you're saying your possibly least favorite song is good enough to hear it so many times??...  :o
I think that's good news...

Anyway, YES, I'm going to hear the album and judge it for myself....  :corn

Prediction:  "Along for the Ride" is about the car ride that John Petrucci took with The Count of Tuscany, but from the perspective of the Count's brother

Could this be the end?
Is this the way it gets?
Sitting here alone
No Petrucci on my plate.

And about the side trip they took to a vineyard in Tuscany where they tasted all the finest wines. The tourguide of the vineyard was sucking on his pipe.

So I'm the only one who will be listening it all day??... 'Cause that's what I gonna do.. KANT WEIT...
:rollin

The situation (for me and several others) is that whenever the band has released singles or other songs, the songs get burned out way before the album is released, so when the release date finally comes one is not excited about listening to those songs, they just seem old.

Yeah, maybe... soooo....?
That makes it less good than the rest?.. I think not, since that didn't happen to me with OTBOA...
I'M GONNA BURN OUT AFTR....  :flame:

Not necessarily "less good", just unexciting.

I really don't understand the logic of not listening?? :dunno:  In two weeks, you're gonna hear it anyway.  Is the first listen of the songs, from the CD, in order of the album tracks, really that important?

I'll be streaming the fuck out of this sucker.

As I said, in my case it is because I like being excited about listening to everything as new material in full (the whole album), and having the song burned out before the album comes out makes it unexciting to listen to when the album is released.
