His solos on the first 5 albums were good, and even Load/Reload had some decent solos too, but even at his best he's never been on par with the shredders of the era, and his solos these days are awful. He has no sense of timing or style at all.

Agree, KH in his prime was nowhere near the best players of his time. The comparison with JP is laughable. His sound, technique, phrasing, harmony, melody... Hell, do they even play the same instrument?

Agreed... the gap between JP and KH is VERY wide in pretty much all aspects; everything from technical ability to tone.

Oh yeah! All of the leads James has done are fantastic, I guess he just doesn't want to wear to many hats in the band... He already plays such a large role being the vocalist and rhythm player.

True, but what I've found of Yngwie is that he seems to have a love/hate relationship with people. Either people love him or hate him, so I can see a lot of Malmsteen haters voting for Kirk just for spite
