JORDAN RUDESS
OF DREAM THEATER
SET TO RELEASE HIS LATEST CUTTING-EDGE APP
"EARWIZARD"
THURSDAY, JULY 11

EAR TRAINING APP AVAILABLE
VIA APPLE ITUNES STORE

JORDAN RUDESS--the keyboardist/Continuum-player/multi-instrumentalist for Grammy-nominated prog rock/metal icons Dream Theater, along with his company Wizdom Music and Chilean developer Felipe Peña--will release their latest app, EARWIZARD via the Apple iTunes store this Thursday, July 11. An ear training app that improves memory, EARWIZARD will be available in 8 languages (Spanish, English, Greek, Dutch, Chinese, Italian, Portuguese and German) here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/earwizard/id599466971?l=en&ls=1&mt=8

EARWIZARD trains your ear while improving your memory skills by having the player repeat back a sequence of chords which gets longer with each round of play. As you improve your skills, the visuals disappear and you'll have to depend on your ear. Start off in easy mode with only a few chords on the screen and with practice, you'll ultimately reach the hardest level where you'll have seven chords on the screen and be playing against the clock. Whether you're a novice or a trained musician, EARWIZARD will surely keep you entertained and challenged. View a clip of Jordan playing EARWIZARD here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAcK1AY6LWU

Says Jordan, "Ear training is the single most important thing that musicians of any level can do. I have a passion for creating effective ways to help people develop their musical ears!  EarWizard is a result of my desire to offer a really fun and engaging experience that will challenge and entertain musicians and non musicians alike!"

Details on EARWIZARD:

-Three levels - Easy, Normal and Hard
-Start with three chords in a key and go up to seven!
-Features fun Jordan videos playing each chord
-Five different diatonic modes-presented in three keys
-Endless Mode for continuous play in any level

I love the youtube video that Jordan released with this.  His humor is awesome. Time to download the app!

This sounds pretty cool!

I'm glad he's keeping it simple and user-friendly this time.

I've had mixed opinions on Jordan's apps. Some, like Morphwiz, are great. Others like SpaceWiz you had to be as intelligent as Rudess to understand. I still don't get SpaceWiz at all and it was basically $9.99 out the window for me.

I hope this ear training app will be available for Android. I just switched phones no more than a week ago!! :rollin

Cool! I'm liking this app already --  it's proving to be pretty fun and stimulating! Can't wait to play through all the levels.

P.S. I love Jordan's facial expressions over the chords, especially the diminished one.  :D

I"m really liking it so far. As an amateur, not professionally trained musician this will be particularly useful to me. This isn't even that theoretical but I'm sure repeated use of it would help so much with understanding, and more importantly, the active practice and analysis of music theory.

I just did the first bit, now I need to buy the rest. Cool app; both fun and challenging for a semi-skilled musician like myself.
