So about that new album....

Preorders start next month eh? That's not so bad. They'll probably start within the first week of August, to coincide with JLBs new release. That's still almost 2 months from the super awesome orgy of sound that is DT12.

It's just that every band says that about every new album they release.

I don't see what's the problem with that.

Not all of these albums are as strong as the band(s) claim they are.

And yet, that's your opinion. If the band considers the album is their strongest yet, why should that bother you? Good luck in finding an artist who says "hmm...well, being honest I'd like to say that this new album isn't as great as our earlier efforts...but you should buy it nonetheless!".

Only Noel Gallagher has done that but he's allowed because he's a hilarious guy anyway and tells it like it is.

But yeah - bands pretty much say their newest album is the best.

If they're a "metal" band - they ALWAYS say it's their heaviest so far.

We should all do a shot whenever someone gets in this thread get pissed about a comment, gets defensive about someone getting pissed, then (bless their heart) says some variation of "so, how about that new DT album?"  It's fun to watch.

As for me, I am honestly thinking that we are going to have a landmark DT Album, like SDOIT or SFAM were at the time of their releases.  ADTOE was close, I think that the new chemistry will push them into greatness.  ADTOE was addition by subtraction of all of the (to me) more stale elements, and this will add to that.

RR should be proud of the DT fan base, not embarrassed because we come across as too keen.  We owe it to the band to be as vocal (in a positive way, of course) as we can be.  Remember, at the end of the day DT is a product as far as RR is concerned.  The more that product generates hype and publicity, the more money, respect and (crucially) promotion will be given to the band.
