Although TCOT is my favourite song on the album by far, TBOT is my least favourite. I really like ANTR, but I like TSF just a LITTLE bit more, and given that I love Wither and have enjoyment with AROP, my vote goes to the second group.

Bolsters

This is a tough one. I don't want to vote for AROP or TSF, but my favourite songs are lumped with them. I'll have to think about it...

Jaffa

First option.  I love TCOT, but I don't love it enough to vote for it when it's teamed up with TSF and TBOT, some of my least favorite Dream Theater songs.  Besides, ANTR and Wither are both great songs, and I like AROP more than most people do.

Fortress/Best/Tuscany

I don't really like TBoT at all and ANtR is my fave from the album but it came down to Wither's superiority over TBoT not being as strong as TSF's superiority over ARoP.

The Letter M

TSF/TBOT/TCOT

Definitely. The last two tracks are the best on the album, and I really enjoy TSF - a perfect conclusion for the Twelve-Step Suite! And I have always loved TBOT and TCOT since the album's release.

JoeG

Easy one. My 3 favorites on BC&SL are the three final tracks.

Lucien

Lucidity

I think all of the best tracks are surrounded by weaker songs, so none of these pairs are particularly good. But I'd go with the last option.

BlobVanDam

A Nightmare to Remember/A Rite of Passage/Wither

The only run with three great tracks, as TSF and TBOT are the weak tracks of the album imo.

GasparXR

I'm still the only person who picked option 2. :lol I would say it's because of TCOT, but people have been giving interesting reasons as to why they picked option 4.

atmyne

it's a wash! although the best 3 songs on this album imo are a rite of passage, the best of times and the count of course. best of times was such a meh track when i was into this album but now its one of the tracks i would go to on this album! dat petrucci solo. swirly guitars in the count is probably one of my all time favorite DT moments. a rite of passage really underrated.

voted for shattered/blurstoftimes/countchocula

aprilethereal

Although TCOT is my favourite on here, is grouped together with two pretty bad songs, so I chose   the first option.

I'm not the only one here that loves all three of those songs?  :o

?

Gotta go with ANTR/AROP/Wither despite my dislike for AROP. Funny how I always pick the first option in the polls for my favorite albums and the last in the ones for the weak albums!

Not just your opinion there, bub - I went with the first option too, as I'm probably one of the few people around here who REALLY dig ARoP.  And I mean REALLY.

Yep, the last three songs are all really good, even though each has minor flaws.  Easily the best three-song run on the album, because, while Wither is good, The Count of Tuscany is much better, and A Rite of Passage, unlike the finest wines, did not age well. :P

MirzekDT

TSF and TCOT are my two favorite songs from the album so this was easy even though TBOT is not as good.

aprilethereal

ANTR - great
AROP - meh
Wither - really good
TSF - good
TBOT - meh
TCOT - amazing

The last three

Tomislav95

A Nightmare to Remember/A Rite of Passage/Wither because it's only option with two good songs.

krands85

Well it's either the first option or the last option, since ANTR and TCOT are the only great tracks on a weak album.

I suppose I'll have to go with the last 3, despite it containing TBOT (one of my least favourite DT songs) - since The Count is my favourite on the album, and I prefer TSF to AROP and Wither.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

mellotron_scratch

The last option; it includes TCOT, which is an amazing song.

yorost

Ugh, I really don't know. :lol ...can we vote as if the cd was on repeat?

The Count of Tuscany and A Nightmare to Remember are my favorites, but then The Shattered Fortress is my third favorite and I like The Best of Times. While A Rite of Passage and Wither are not bad songs, neither is anything particularly special by DT standards.

Therefore: Last option.

Elite

Wither / The Shattered Fortress / The Best of Times

This really was a choice of lesser evils. A Rite of Passage is one of my LEAST favourite Dream Theater songs, but so is a Nightmare to Remember. Coincidentally, The Best of Times really isn't a favourite of mine either, but then again, neither is The Shattered Fortress, but at least that one is pretty cool in its own right. The Count of Tuscany will never be more than an 'ok' song for me. It's quite alright, but nothing stands out at all, except for the end and it takes far too long to get there. Wither is the only track on BC&SL that I legitimately *like* so that had to be included. This meant only option 3 could survive.

I'm surprised I'm the only one who chose Option 3 so far.

The last option wins for me. Had to decide between that and the first option, but the last one wins because it has a great song and a good song as opposed to two just-good songs.

First option, love the entire album, but the first three tracks are my favorites

JoSeM90DT

Uhmm... None.

Not a big fan of this album. ANTR and TCOT are pretty much the only songs that I listen to.

nicmos

First 3 songs.  Only thing wrong with AROP is the abrupt non-transition back from the instrumental to the last verse.  Other than that I really like the song.  ANTR is the best on the album, and Wither is one of their absolute best ballads.  Easy choice.
