OH MY GOD
Day 1 purchase! (Hopefully it'd be released for android devices)

Edit: Ohh never mind it's desktop/laptop. Still though!

The Stray Seed

It's available only if you buy the deluxe edition, but it's still great!!!

EDIT: wait, is it just for 6:00?

Super Dude

I went into this thread thinking this would be some lolworthy 360 view of their studio or something, but this is awesome.
:superdude:

aprilethereal

whole show would be great, but only 6:00? Nah.

KISS 76

So I guess It's available only if you buy the deluxe edition?
Isn't that edition "Limited" to only 2500 copies? Kind of stupid to create an app for so limited sales...

me7

It just took me solid 5 seconds to realize that the song Six O'Clock is 6:00 :lol

Lotion

I'm just glad James sounds awesome at the clip, then he probably will on the rest of the dvd.

Naikon

Sure, I like 6:00, but did they choose to only include the 360 effect in this song? I'd rather like to hear it in some other powerful song.

Perpetual Change

Man, DT (the band) almost sound -too- good live. They're so together, you almost have to wonder whether the show was pre-recorded :D

They probably re-recorded it all in the studio, afterwards.

No, I jest - I was struck by that, too. It sounds properly beautiful. That's about as brilliant as live music ever sounds. Still got the raw edge of live instruments playing in real-time, but it's so completely precise. Beautiful.

It's almost unfair to James. Since the rest of the band is so perfect, James slopping it up occasionally (only natural for considering he's a middle-aged dude playing an instrument made of flesh 'n blood) sticks out like a sore thumb.

Yeah it's a bit unfair for James and he gets a lot of grief from it.  JP (or the others) don't gotta go guzzle honey water between songs to keep making noise.

GasparXR

When it comes to James, it seems like his only problem is when he has a bad night (bad being relative to how good he is normally at this point) and he can't hit some notes as well. Although, for the past few years, he seemed to have recognized when he can't hit these notes and stays away and does something else that works, and that's a part of his vocal talent that I like. He has done that on many occasions before though, like on SFNY, he wasn't able to hit the LTL F#5, so he stayed a little lower and hit a C#5, which is still an impressive note, works really well and it was very powerful.

On topic, (as if anything anyone on this board can do to keep us on topic :lol), this video made me super excited for the live release. I'm probably not getting the deluxe edition unless I feel like I need to get both the DVD and BD versions so I can watch it on my computer or don't have access to a BD player at any given time, so the 360 feature won't be experienced by me. Still, looks awesome.

On the topic of James again, I was curious as to how different he would sound on this release. The reason for that is because, on Score, his performance was astounding, but he sounds kind of weird. Like some power was taken away from his voice, his slight rough edge is gone. I'm not sure if that's just what he sounded like at that time or not, but in the 6:00 clip he sounds just like all the bootlegs from this past tour, albeit in professionally-recorded quality.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to hearing the concert audio for this precise reason, to see what everything's like when the amateur recording fuzz and distortion is taken off. What I really like about James singing 6:00 is that his full metal, offbeat, confident Awakeish grittiness seemed to be forever lost, except in some wilder screams, before this tour, and now it seems to be back - Awake songs sound  awesome with '11-'12 James.

I really wish he'd do another detailed intie (like the one he did round 8VM with Jamie Vendera), where he'd explain what changed in his voice and frontmanship in the past several years, how does he handle difficulties, what he would like to improve, how he sees himself and DT in the future, et cetera. I think it would be a really inspiring read.

Agreed, in the beginning of the clip he sounds almost exactly like he did on Awake! :o The "gooooooooooooooooo!" at the end is epic :tup

Indeed! It's not like his whole voice has the Awake grittiness though -- he still sings many of the other songs with a cleaner vibe, so it's definitely something he's worked on rather than his voice naturally changing.

SeRoX

It is so surprise that a thread about DVD trailer turns into immediately how James sounds on that.  :lol

It wasn't a bad night. Actually, LSFNY was a very strong night, considering the average of the SFAM tour. He was unable to hit the F# in LTL from '00 to '02, reprising only after the vocal restyling of '03

All of this. Starting with the SA tour of 2010 his voice has acquired back that raw awakish edge that most of us love. It was particularly evident in the last few legs, culminating with the DVD nights. I am very satisfied with the recent evolution of his voice, and would LOVE to read that interview, should it ever come to exist.

This is precisely why he is my favourite member of the band. He had so many problems and deathly blows throughout his career, and still here he is, after twenty two years. Every night, slaying or failing, displaying strenght or confronting his weaknesses, but always giving the best he can for the band ad for us fans. :heart

GasparXR

I didn't mean SFNY was a bad night, I was just referring to his safety notage. I should've been more clear. :P

Still, that's not a measurement for quality, since on ADTOE cymbals and stuff are almost inaudible at times.

Cool! I wish they would release this on the normal DVD though and on more songs, but thats for the future maybe.

Also, it would be cool to be able to walk around on the stage the whole concert, but thats for the future also.
