Live versions of songs from Score/8V/BCSL/ADTOE tour > Live versions from '92-'98 > Reunite > Remaster > original

BCSL/ADTOE? I mean, apart from Live at Luna Park which is not yet out, we haven't really gotten any proper, good quality concert recordings from this recent era. So what versions are you talking about?
Score only has Afterlife which, yes, sounds awesome. But besides that, I can't think of any live recordings from the recent era that surpass Reunite in quality.

?

Question? I have the cd with the green cover witch was if I am correct the first print.  Any info about that? (I read that it was a misstake and it should be the purple-blue cover)

Oh I was mostly talking about either very good bootlegs, or just the general performance of the band playing these songs. They sound way more energetic playing these songs compared to the studio versions, it's much more noticeable here than with any other album.

You could replace the first part of my post with "Score and other high-quality recordings from 2005 onwards".

Why can't DT get the rights to this album? Why does the record label still own them?

That's a good question, actually. It'd be a different story if the label was doing something with it, or if it was selling well. But there hasn't been a reissue since 2004, correct? And it's DT's first album. How much money could it possibly take to buy out the rights to it?

Maybe the guys at DT just don't think they can get enough interest in this album even if they did remix/remaster it properly. I mean, I'd definitely get a copy, but I'm pretty sure there are quite a few DT fans who wouldn't.

I'm sure most of current DT doesn't care, and even if they did, it probably isn't worth the trouble.

That's true. There are TWO DT members who are actually on that album. If I was JR, or JLB I wouldn't give the smallest bit of crap about the actual original masters of that album.

That was the first reissue after Images and Words came out. I think it had already gone out of print  the first time by then.

Yeah. DT doesn't own the WDADU recordings. They have no input whatsoever on reissues or repackaging or anything at all. I guess it was easier and cheaper to re-record WDADU (for the official bootleg) than buying out the recordings from the label that currently owns them.

Plus that way they could have James LaBrie on the vocals.

The "reunite" version was in that good intention, no doubt. But it's still a live version and I still miss a good studio version of that album (from my point of view, a remix could fix all the problems). And personally my favorite song from WDADU is Light Fuse and Get Away and I don't like that much the WDADR arrangement and James performance particulary on this song.

I feel the same about that specific song.
