I voted The Dark Eternal Night because I thought it would be funny. Guess I'm not the only one.

It would make the most sense in The Spirit Carries On.

Most probably it will be TSCO, my backup choices are BTS, Surrounded and These Walls for their emotiveness and Metropolis if she's actually a hardcore fan who gets to see it played live for the first time.

I hope they don't edit her out after seeing what has become of her.

Nah, it's probably too late for re-editing anyway, at least for something so silly. :lol

Well, I get the feeling that it would have to be pretty late in the concert, so I went:

"Beneath The Surface"
"Far From Heaven" (the prediction I'm most confident of.)
"The Spirit Carries On"
"Breaking All Illusions" (I'm SURE that that guitar solo can extract tears from a woman.)
"Pull Me Under"

It can't be any of the solos, because, if you look closely, you can see that she still has a face.

Wish my girlfriend would tear up at a DT show.  Until then, I'll just keep blocking her view throughout the set.  No way is she standing in front of me.

Nugget: it's really just a REALLY effeminate dude.

If I saw a dude who looked that pretty, I'd still offer my services for a good 7 or 8 minutes.

I voted for Spirit, Guitar solo and BTS. Knowing our luck, I bet it's the end of the show after they've finished.

Which would count as "Pull Me Under" or "Metropolis, Pt. 1".

wolven74

She's probably tearing up before TSCO. During James' story about the cruise ship.

If you just spoiled that for me, I'm going to be super pissed.

ZKX-2099

The Spirit Carries On... I've seen that song have that effect before... on me.

You'd do that for anything with a heartbeat though.

Awesome thread, I'm saying Beneath the Surface or TSOC.

Clearly the drum solo; after the 37th minute she could no longer take the emotional trauma.

i Really dont think in TSCO
because in argentina ( and the rest of south america) religious mentality is are not as strong as in the protestant USA. christianity convictions are very weak there among young population.
and i think TSCO lyrics have an high reilgious content which fit with the crhristianity mentality in usa but not there.
IMO  :justjen

Even though you can take some faint religious connotations from it being written by JP, keep in mind it's a part of a story about death and reincarnation (not a very Christian topic), and taken out of context I think it's more of a general song about death and dealing with loss, rather than anything specifically religious. It's a topic that most people can relate to, religious or not.
And musically, it's a pretty powerful live song, with JLB's soaring choruses, the big guitar solo buildup, and the general live vibe of the song. I think that alone would be enough to get swept up in emotionally.
But you have raised any interesting perspective on the discussion.

MoraWintersoul

I'm an atheist too and I often skip the TSCO-portions of both Score and LSFNY if I'm not alone because I tear up every time even though I've seen them thousands of times. The song can be interpreted in many ways, and even though JP surely wrote it incorporating his own religious feelings, to me the lyrics signify the memories our departed have left us with and our duty to carry their spirit with us, and the message and the performance just brings me to tears. That, and it is a gorgeous song.

I'm guessing Bridges in the Sky, since its the moment that hits her with "omg I'm finally seeing Dream Theater!"

lonestar

I'm thinking James just left his fly open and she got a glimpse of the real "one eyed pirate"

Bridges in the Sky: Playing the overcome-with-emotion-at-seeing-her-favourite-band-in-the-flesh card at the beginning of the show

This is the Life: It gets me emotional, anyway.

The Spirit Carries On: Whoever doesn't get emotional at this song has no soul.

Wait For Sleep
Far From Heaven
Surrounded (I really believe its this one)
The Spirit Carries On
Breaking All Illusions

my 6th choice would've been Metropolis
