I know everyone (myself included) is getting impatient, but try to hold on.  I don't know anything and haven't asked, but if I am told anything that I am allowed to share, I'll share it with you all the moment I know soon.
Yeah, thanks Bosk! ;D
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

I had a really crap day at work today, made even worse by the thought of a November release date. I know its purely speculation, but God damn its frustrating. First I was looking forward to it in May (my bday on the 25th) then the June/July tentative dates were found and I could live with that.

But this is worrying. The fact that even 5 months down the line from the OTE teasers, and still no-one, not the band, the management, or another source has explained just whats up. The trailer said May. When they knew it wouldnt be this month someone should have said something. Fill in the people who are gonna be buying the product!  :'(

Chino

A November release date would be insane. The trailer has been out how long now? Four months? That would be entering Rockstar games territory.

I'm sorry but more dates pop up:

ginza.se Release date  2013-11-04
cdon.se Release date  2013-11-04
bengan.se Release date  2013-11-04
Megastore.se Release date  2013-11-04

Of course they could all just copy and paste eachother and we also have:
swedenrock-online.se  Relase date 2013-07-26

So yea.....just more confusing i guess.

That's what I think is happening. Not because of my knowledge of how this info gets out, but because it looked like that with the other dates that were suggested, and because a Nov release date just seems pretty implausible considering all the stuff I do know.

You're reading the date format wrong. That actually means the 11th April 2013. It's already out, guys! We were so busy complaining about the release date that we MISSED it! Thanks to Over the Edge for the facts.

You guys might not realize this, but the Styx album from 2003 (the only full studio album of new music without Dennis DeYoung) is arguably even better than their 1970s stuff.

Dream Theater has come out with 5 (will be 6) albums since then plus all the live albums and bootlegs, and Styx has come out with like 3 songs (that clearly Tommy Shaw just kinda threw together), two live albums, two EPs of re-recordings, and a cover album. This really really really sucks if you like Styx as much as I do (which btw is almost impossible).

I wouldn't go that far, but Cyclorama is still very good, mostly because of the first nine tracks (minus tracks 3 and 8) and One with Everything.  Everything else is forgettable, but those eight tracks are all very worthy.  Pieces of Eight, The Grand Illusion, Equinox and Crystal Ball are all still better, though. :)

Just in case anyone didn't notice, those are all SWEDISH websites.  Not unheard of to have vastly different release dates in different countries.  Now if it was amazon.com's date, then I'd be concerned.

EMP mailorder (where i've done my preorder) still say 26.07.2013

Unless they pull out a "Porcupine Tree" like with the Anesthetize DVD which was released later after they released The Incident.
...or if they pull a Katatonia - they filmed one of their 20th anniversary shows in May 2011 and the DVD still hasn't been released, although they put a new album out last year. This is the only time I hope other bands won't follow in Katatonia's footsteps at something! :lol

Totally agree with you, Kev.  Of course... 6 knows I'm a DDY fangirl, so that does have a lot to do with it.

As to the topic at hand...

NONE of the dates mentioned so far have been officially confirmed.

Sooooo.... what song is everyone looking forward to seeing live? One of the new ADToE? One of the classics that has never made it to DVD before? Or just intrigued to see MM put his spin on things?

I don't get it.

Could it be because the song sucks?  ???

That makes no sense, since it doesn't. Nor does all of Axl Rose's music.

Are we now disrespecting Appetite for Destruction because Axl Rose turned into an asshole? Maybe we should doing the same with DTs back catalogue because MP behaved so childish after the split.

?

Well, GNR don't suck (although I'm not a fan and will never be), but New Millennium is pretty terrible :D

New Millenium is great.

Guns 'n' Roses are pretty good.

Axl Rose is a moron.

I'm surprised you don't like Killing the thing that You Love (12)! That's a song that doesn't hit you the first time, I kinda didn't think much of it til I really just sat down and listened to only it and now it's one of my favorite Styx songs. And I LOVE the chord structures in 8 and 10 and 11, they are brilliant. But maybe we should make a Styx thread in General to talk about this if you or others want to continue  :)

And New Millenium is fantastic, and the lyrics are freaking inspiring (I'm not really referring to the chorus when I say this though. The chorus isn't bad enough to drag it down, although it's my least favorite part.)

To get back on a the unknown release date. In france, there are few websites who claimed a release date on may 15th 2013.

I live in france, it's may 15th 6:30pm and as doom's day didn't occur in the world, so did the DVD...

Boring  :-[

?

Amazon Japan also mentioned May 15 as the release date a month or two ago, but all the info was taken down pretty quickly. Anyway, it's very confusing to have all these different release dates, but I think July is most likely the correct one.

I would agree.  Specifically, I'd like to LNF because they weren't including that in the setlist when I saw them.

DebraKadabra

I don't see why not, as they did have it in the setlist when they played both Luna Park shows.

A more complete answer would be to say that what I'm looking forward to seeing on the DVD is the stuff from ADToE.  Since I saw the first leg of the tour, I've already seen some of them live.  I did not get a chance to see LNF and am looking forward to seeing it on the DVD. ;D
