Look at all us freaks cluttering your city streets
Still scalping their ticket-less applause
Spun monkeys on the railroad track, take me to the caine field; I walk along pick my spiderbite

That will take a couple of months, as did the LiT DVD... I've planned on having lots from all DVDs but I gave up :D however, now I know LiT frame by frame.

Hahaha like 8 including my parents and brother, but we don't even have a release date. Once we do I'm gonna send out a message and more people may reply.

8? That's nice, you're going to have a great night it seems. But yeah, I really hope we'll get a release date soon.
NUGGETZ!

Well! Keep in mind this is just fan hearsay. Second-hand source, so I wouldn't count it out just yet.

But keep in mind, also, that it fits what we already know, and thedrumanimal doesn't really have any reason to lie. If the DVD were to be released at the very tail end of May, we'd be expecting news... well, now! Six weeks is about right for the promo period. So, yes, it seems very likely.

Funnily, the gap from the gig to the DVD is now longer than the gap from the drummer auditions to the drummer doc - and to think how much we complained about that! More complicated end product, I suppose, so, again, unsurprising. Shame, but it'll be done when it's done.

Τhis is probably a matter of scheduling, it seems DT want to keep a stream of info coming from them, in order to keep the interest up until the new album release.

You can see it with the question videos they've been posting, they could do all the questions with one video, instead they keep releasing bits and pieces.

I guess the new album will come probably October-November, so they want to keep being relevant with releasing the live album during the summer, and following with the new album release.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere;

All songs from both nights will be included.

He also said, but 1 version of each so that sounds to me like there will be no doubles, just the best of the 2. They obviously wouldn't have multiple versions of each.

wolfking

Yeah, probably the best version of the 2 will be represented.  As long as we're getting These Walls and 6:00, I'm happy.

As long as we get Bridges in the Sky, 6:00, The Dark Eternal Night, This is the Life, The Root of All Evil, Lost Not Forgotten, a Mike Mangini Drum Solo, A Fortune in Lies, The Silent Man, Beneath the Surface, a Jordan Rudess Keyboard Solo, Outcry, Surrounded, On the Backs of Angels, War Inside My Head, The Test That Stumped Them All, a John Petrucci Guitar Solo, The Spirit Carries On, Breaking All Illusions, Metropolis Pt. 1, These Walls, Build Me Up, Break Me Down, Caught in a Web, Wait for Sleep, Far From Heaven, and Pull Me Under, I'll be happy. :millahhhh

You, sir, might just be in luck. hahaha

Daso

I'm so happy that Mangini answered my question today  ;D Especially because, well, it's Mangini  :hefdaddy

That was a question that came to mind from the very first moment, since I went to their show in Costa Rica and I saw setlists from other nights and realized it wasn't the same. So when I knew about the DVD and that it would be two shows I thought they would be different setlists on both nights, just as it happened, but it wasn't clear if they were going to make the DVD feature all songs from both nights.

And, yeah, that makes another DTF member's question answered

johncal

It should be awesome but I think the DVD will have grown a beard by the time we see it.

Meatrose

Well, I'm not really worried. It has to be released before the new album arrives so it's not like we won't get to purchase the crap out of it.

Jinx

Actually I'm starting to think that we will see the new album before the DVD. I just hope to God they dont just tack the DVD onto the album, would be a tremendous cop-out.

wasteland

No way! The DVD has to be part of the build-up for the new album!

I think that would be incredible value for money, but I don't think DT would give away income like that.

from Over The Edge Productions Facebook:
"Filming in the studio with Dream Theater today."

what could they be filming at this point? unless it isn't related to the dvd...

Live studio performances for the special edition?

No idea. Studio just got interesting, though.

If they did a Bluray/CD combo for like $40, they'd sell a ton.

I'd f---ing love it if they did a live in the studio play-through of the whole new album..  :metal

Another_Won

HA!  We're talking about this in two threads because it could potentially fit in either one at this point.

Here's my comment from the other thread before I saw this one:

"What if we got some behind the scenes stuff from the making of the new album on the Luna Park DVD?  That would be different, huh?  This behind the scenes stuff BEFORE the album actually comes out."

aprilethereal

I thought they were nearly finished with the recordings, so if they started to do a making-of documentary now it wouldn't really make sense to me

True but we don't really no, they may have very well been there from the start or it's just a sneak peak for the DVD not a behind the scenes.

That would be cool, but since the album is on Roadrunner, and the Luna Park release is on Eagle Rock, I don't see that happening.

wasteland

Ah, yeah, I didn't consider this! Thanks to Over The Wey for the facts!

That's kind of what I thought - there's a chance they might've been there all along and we just haven't heard about it, but from the way it's put, it sounds like they were in there for the one day.

Could be an interview - "take us through all the songs," etc., something small but pleasant. Who's about that day? Was anyone off gallivanting? I know JP and JR have been getting around - DT finally came to indonesia pls, but they're laying down keys, now, so they must be back from that?

wolfking

In studio performance of the entire album would be incredible.

duh!  Nothing like reality to ruin a perfectly good idea :lol
