Ballyhoo

Rapscallions !  >:( >:(

Oh come on man... It's only talk...  :P

I just got reminded of the BC&SL elephants. Why does no-one ever talk about the elephants. :(

Kotowboy

Egotistical pachyderms ! Wo do they think they are ?!

DebraKadabra

Look at all us freaks cluttering your city streets
Still scalping their ticket-less applause
Spun monkeys on the railroad track, take me to the caine field; I walk along pick my spiderbite

So you're saying everyone's avoiding the elephant in the room? :neverusethis:

Kotowboy

I was gonna go with that but I assumed that the joke was subtly  implied in Gaspar's post.

See DT!! A prime example on what's happening with a thread when you don't release any album info....we all go bananas! I hope you're proud of yourselfs DT....

GasparXR

The joke I was making was actually referring to Elephant Talk by King Crimson, one of the lyrics is "it's all talk" or "it's only talk", can't remember which. :lol

I think it depends on the verse.

What Sketch said - and, it's what I was referring to as well.

In the home stretch on the DT sessions! All vocals are done. Cutting solos.

Seems like we're going to get a similar schedule like ADToE!

Kotowboy

I'm guessing the tracking will be all done in about a week then.

That leaves June for Mixing and Mastering.

About Three months of promo.

The CD should be out in September.

wasteland

When he says home stretch does he mean that he's recording the solos at home? I wasn't aware he had a home studio with all the adequate recording devices for a studio album.

Not sure if joking or serious. Home stretch refers to nearing the end.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

It means he's doing a week of stretching at home in preparation for the solos.

They're THAT fast that even JP needs to warm up.

Yes.

Be very afraid.

I'm serious. You know that I'm still learning to express myself as well as understand the way others express themselves in your language  :blush

I must be honest, I have never seen that expression before, and just linked to home as in home. Carry on  :blush

home•stretch (ˈhoʊmˈstrɛtʃ)

n.
1. the straight part of a racetrack from the last turn to the finish line. Compare backstretch.
2. the final phase of any endeavor.

Kotowboy

p.s. It's actually not that hard to record at home these days.

I have an iMac with Logic 9 - an audio interface and a Blackstar Head with an emulated output.

Recording at home is an absolute doddle.

But would you consider the result to be fitting of the standards of quality required for a studio release by a major band?

You could also say The Final Furlong.

GasparXR

Maybe by home stretch he means a 20-minute version of Home.

Metropolis Pt. 3, called it

I don't doubt a Metropolis Pt. 3, there's quite a bit of evidence:

Death (of Mike Portnoy, metaphorically) is only a transition... Now is the time for regeneration.

re-generation as in Edward/Nicholas are reincarnated.

What better way to show off the actual skill of a drummer than to make a concept album?

Kotowboy

Seeing as Part 1 was always a joke and they've always said they'll never do a part 3 i doubt it.

It'll be about time I think.

12 hours on the clock etc. :p

Oh, the nuggetz we'll probably experience on this album...

I recorded my song at home and it doesn't sound great because I'm very amateurish at mixing, but I know that some people record full albums at home and they sound great - OSI is a good example ;)

That's not a bad thing. It would be bad if they also delayed the album to make it's release after the DVD.

DebraKadabra

True, but it kind of renders LALP obsolete if DT12 comes out before it.  Eh... could just be my weird brain though...
