Now Dream Theater could simply put their own music in Rock Band! I think someone should try to email and/or talk to a member in the band about this. Not only would they get 30% of every song sold, just think of the publicity they could get, not to mention the simple fact that a ton of people want more Dream Theater in Rock Band.

Here is the official page, with a demonstration video at the bottom of the page: https://creators.rockband.com/docs/Main_Page

I think this more for unsigned bands to get more exposure... DT really doesn't need it :P
turns out signatures are fundamentally broken now so here's my passive-aggressive signature about signatures instead

I wonder how many bands are going to ridiculously overchart their songs.

The Rock Band Network really is not as awesome as it could be.  It costs money to upload a song, and the uploader does not chart the song, Harmonix's team of "freelance developers" do.  Oh, and the artist only gets 30% of the cut from sales, but thats to be expected from the music industry.

Chino

I remember bringing this idea up about a year ago before the crash, and remember being told it would never happen.

Chagny

Send in The Glass Prison or Home and the guys charting it would die from shock.

According to what I've read, the uploader has the ability to chart the songs themselves. Also, it only costs 100 bucks for the XNA membership (which is what you need). The developers themselves have said that this is simply to supplement their own DLC, and that this isn't an "amateur league." They said they expect bands as big as Judas Priest to use the Rock Band Network.

Yeah because the more popular DT gets the better the music will be on the next albums!

This quote is really old, I know. But still, 30% is a LOT better than what an unsigned band can expect to receive from royalties from a potential record company. Just saying.
