I'm torn between The Killing Hand and Finally Free. Please, help me out of this stalemate!  :lol

The first one, surely! It's iconic. One of those DT cultural touchstones - everyone remembers where they were when they discovered that Charlie Dominici was the killing haaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...!

The Presence of Frenemies

A Nightmare to Remember. I mean, who saw "ROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!" coming?

:neverusethis:

Jaffa

Octavaripolis

Finally Free, its more than just a song in terms of plot twist.

Nailed it, robwebster-style. ®

The Count of Tuscany. What an epic story about how something bad happened a long time ago, but doesn't anymore, then The Bear and The CountTM have some drinks and bench press or whatever.

Man, I still don't understand the SFAM story after all these years.  :loser:

Some girl dies in the past. Some guy investigates in the present and he gets everything wrong. Then he dies too.

Zydar

Can't say I've fully grasped it either.

But at the end... why would he ruin a perfectly good LP?  ;)

Have you guys watched the Metropolis 2000: Scenes from New York DVD concert with the commentary by the band? They explain the story and it's connections/references to "Metropolis Part 1: The Miracle And The Sleeper" really well!

What about Someone Like Him, or Medicate? Basically the first two parts of Octavarium? :o

Tomislav95

Did you know I am the killing hand? :lol

Madman Shepherd

The count?  Seriously?  That plot twist is The Count saying to John Petrucci, "Whoa man, you're being a bit overdramatic."

VioletS16

I chose TKH. It was a tie between that and FF but I decided I like TKH more  :lol

I can't see how any other option than Finally Free could be right for this one here.

For those taking the poll seriously, this.

Finally Free was a good twist, but DT said that elements from a couple of stories, including the movie Dead Again, were incorporated, so that pretty much spoiled it.

I can't believe no one's said Never Enough.  That is one Shyamalan-esque twist when you find out he's talking about you the whole time.

John Petrucci: Yeah woo Italy! Wonder what I should go see first
The Count of Tuscany:    Hey what's up, wanna go for a ride? I'll show you my bitchin' estate and you can meet my brother and stuff.
Petrucci: I don't see any way this could go wrong.
Count: Okay we're here, this is my brother, he's fancy as shit. Sorry if he's kind of a dick.
Petrucci: I! WANT TO STAY ALIVE! / EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE JUST DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT / I! I DON'T WANT TO DIE! SUDDENLY I'M FRIGHTENED FOR MY LIFE! I! WANT TO SAY GOODBYE! / THIS COULD BE THE LAST TIME YOU SEE ME ALIVE / I! I MAY NOT SURVIVE, KNEW IT FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED!!
Count: ...
Count: u ok
