it really is no different. they use nsfw tags. suddenly it's better?

I don't get what you're arguing about. If you don't like reddit, then don't use it. There are many people that agree with you. Despite this, many artists/celebrities/etc. have used it to reach out to interested fans so clearly it's serving a useful purpose.

its like saying google is bad cause of the stuff you can find with it

Some of the subreddits are difficult to defend - I'll admit that. However, there's so much more that Reddit has to offer. You can't judge the entire website based on a very small percentage of its content. That's just silly.

This is one of those moment when I feel deeply ignorant, as I am clueless about what "that other site" is.

Still, I have the feeling that ignorance might be a bliss in this case.

And yet we aren't allowed to mention that other site.

Well, reddit is just like most of the internet: it's a giant BBS, and you have to go out of your way to find the NSFW stuff. You have to want to find it. You won't, if you never go out of your way to look.

That other site I think you're talking about is completely different. NSFW is right there. And pretty much any part of it can easily and quickly become NSFW.

There's a pretty big difference between a search engine telling you where something is if you search for it and a site that hosts and allows users to create pages dedicated to the discussion and sharing of pictures about a topic. To use this site as an example, it's be the difference between a random person posting porn and people seeing it before the mods delete it vs the mods allowing the existence of a thread where people post porn. Reddit does the second, which would be fine if it didn't also allow some other reprehensible things. Attempting to go "well it's no different than Google!" is really silly.

Of course, so is going into a rant about Reddit on a DT side thread about JR's latest thing.

The other site actually has the boards listed and which ones are NSFW and which aren't. And, the ones that aren't porn isn't allowed.  Not different.

the president of the united states hasn't done a Q&A at the unnamed site. sure reddit has some crazy stuff but that's not what the site is known for

I think they are silimar in how they are used. At least to what I've seen. Most are just people trying to have 5 minutes of fame. I couldn't get into Reddit because it felt no one was being real. People were just concerned with upvotes and not actually talking about anything.

We should really make a thread for this.

I tweeted him and asked if he enjoyed being on a site that has been known to have child pornography. He didn't respond to me, though  :-\

A celebrity didn't respond to a troll question on Twitter? I am truly shocked.

This is great! If Jordan is making music apps for Windows 8 it's the best news for me this year. I don't have (and will not buy) an iPad but really like the music apps there. However, Windows 8 is a OS where I can have Cubase or whatever I want and combining that with Jordan's apps would be fantastic for me.

If you're looking to get a touch device make sure you wait until the Surface Pro comes out (or another x86 tablet) because you won't be able to install Cubase on the Surface RT.
