Bosk, this may be crazy, but judging by this comment...

So, yeah, seriously, it would be cool if people would vote and post ideas.  Quickly.

And those in this thread https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=33556.0

It sorta sounds like this poll will be looked at and taken into consideration by the band? Then again I may just be crazy :P

Backstage tour footage and commentary would be great. Commentary was the only thing missing to make Budakon a perfect DVD.

I'd like to see DT in the studio while writing and recording ADTOE. I love studio material.  :tup

First choice to me is definitely the commentary. Always interesting to hear what the guys have to say.

My second choice would be more audition footage, tho after reading some of the other comments, I think that footage would best be included in a "Making of ADToE" official bootleg. If that be the case, ultimately, I'd love to see as much of the audition footage of all the drummers involved, but at the very least, the complete audition MM did (full song performances, the improv and test compositions they gave him).
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

...you've never looked at his bass parts, have you?

No, I've never seen JM play bass, ever.  Got anything else passive-aggressive to say?

While JM is not interesting as far as playing unique parts like Chris Squire, the mostly doubling of JP is a feat in itself. Either more so on a 6 string bass. So to say watching him is like watching nothing is a just a bit off.

I voted for commentary. I've missed that for a while.

My second choice would be extra footage from the tour. Some more songs from High Voltage would be nice. That way we'd be able to have The Great Debate, The Count of Tuscany, and Learning To Live, as well as Peruvian Skies. ASSuming their full set was filmed.

Definitely extra from the tour, although I didn't vote for it when this thread was first started.

In particular, if there are a few songs that they aren't playing right now that they did play a while back, and they recorded them with good enough video footage, it'd be cool to see them make the bonus features section.  The Count of Tuscany for one would be cool, if for no other reason than to shut up those who will piss and moan if they play no BC&SL songs at either show next week. :P

I actually liked BC&SL.  I'd like to see video of TCoT and Nighmare.  DT has been so good at getting all their songs onto video releases and I'm worried that they might just skip BC&SL.

TBH the only reason I'd buy the DVD is if there was a commentary or documentary of the tour. I'm always a sucker for those things.

Progmetty

They're good but the only reason? Far from it in my case, the thing I'm really looking forward to on this BluRay is the amazing sound quality and to experience that outstanding visual show over and over again.
I don't mind reasonable audience noise, which was never a problem in previous DT DVD so I dunno why we're worried. I really to hear big sing alongs though, it has a powerful effect. Besides; isn't it safe to assume that JP is going to have very close supervision over the audio mixing in the production stage of the DVD?

I've posted the link in my blog ( https://theshamansblog.wordpress.com/2012/08/11/dream-theater-anuncia-oficialmente-su-nuevo-dvd-en-argentina/ ). Hopefully a good amount of people vote in this poll.

I voted for the commentary, btw.

I loved that you didn't miss the chance to bash Rajoy :P.

I want to see JP juggling chainsaws set on fire. :metal

This is so far the best option.

Love to see something about how they came about the stage design this tour, and a 'making of' ADTOE type of thing would be nice.

Hell, I'll buy it anyway...  :rollin

Seeing that Guatemala greeting video posted the other day, I've changed my mind about anything else being better than commentary. This lineup is hilarious when you put them all together.

They should add the high voltage 2011 festival footage as a bonus. The Quality is awesome and the setlist is a perfect add-on.

Endless Sacrifice

... So nobody has posted this yet?
Quote from: Over the Edge ProductionsWe just wrapped up a week in South America producing Dream Theater's new concert DVD.  The shoots included two live concert recordings at Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina and documentary footage in both Colombia and Argentina for the special features.  Dream Theater put on an incredible show both nights for the sold-out stadium.  Mike Leonard produced and directed the show under his company, Over the Edge Productions.  A special thanks to the OTE crew that came down with us: Chris Paul, Kelly Cook, Alan Clary, Godfrey Tabarez, Jordan Bross and Jackie Zampella.  Today marks the start of postproduction for the new concert DVD which will be released on BluRay and contain plenty of bonus features.
Footage in Colombia! YES!  :metal :caffeine:

That performance made me wet in my crotch area. If the Bluray/DVD is of that standard (which I have no reason to believe it won't be) then it's gonna be great.

How about JP in the gym? I would like to see what he's doing there  :)
