For JP to cut the locks once again and revert to the Live at Budokan look?

snapple

he'd have to quit eating for about...20 years to get that small.

Nekov

Yes. I like it a lot more than the long hair

Plz god noooooo!  :police:

I want the bad-ass Petruccinator!  :metal

TheGreatPretender

Hell no! Until JP is REALLY balding, he should keep the long hair. And when he is balding, then he should start sporting the JR look.

KevShmev

Not that I care what a guy does with his hair, but rock star or not, most men look ridiculous with long hair past a certain age, IMO.

ReaPsTA

Mmmmmmmmmmm.

When JP's hair was shorter, he made 6DOIT and ToT, two of my least favorite DT albums from a guitar standpoint.

Then he grew his hair back out and rolled off Systematic Chaos, Black Clouds, and A Dramatic Turn of Events, which are all fantastic guitar albums.

So no.

I'm inclined to agree

Bring back John Petrucci, 2001!

EDIT: He also looks quite scary-looking in the picture the OP provided.

One of the things I admire most about DT is that image has never mattered to them. What they look like is, and always has been secondary to how they sound and the music they play. I don't care if JP cuts his hair back to the OP length, or if JR grew his out to the SFNY days. As long as they don't change the music they produce to (to use a phrase from Jack Black) crappy pap, we're good.  :tup

If JR did that, he'd have a skullet.

That's definitely real. I remember when it was posted a few months back.

I didn't realize his arms were THAT big. I'm actually impressed.

Those are arms? I thought they were tree trunks.

Adami

I'm not using any hyperbole here, but do his biceps actually seem bigger than his head?

John's had some interesting looks throughout the years.  Gigantour was particularly a bad time.

THIS! He looks much better with long hair, and the spikey look he had was pretty bad.

Progmetty

I'm with the OP and always been advocate of the JP's Budokhan era hair style, he looked cooler than ever. I have nothing against long hair but on JP it has become more awkward looking over the last 5 or 6 years due to the very visible withdrawal of his hair line further back. First noticed this on Chaos in Progress when he was being interviewed outdoors.
Short SDOIT/ToT hair yes, completely bald JP hell no.
But a sure hell no from JP's short hair era is the freakin baggy pants with the red hanging stripes  :yeahright

Zydar

The semi-long curlyish hair from around 2007 looks kind of good on him, I think. Same with the trimmed beard too.

Personally, I think he looks best with short hair.

The trimmed beard is definitely the right way to go. Whenever his beard gets too long, he just starts looking like an old Folk Metal guitarist from Europe... I dunno, that's just my association, I guess.

Sketchy

2007 hair is cool.

It does look like he's charging up for laserbeam mode though.

I've always thought so too.

While we're at it, isn't it time for James to lose those extra pounds he's had for a couple years now?

He's just exercising his Constitutional right to bear arms.

And when he puts on his guitar he's exercising his Constitutional right to arm bears.
