So, anyone here heading to the first show of the Central/South American tour?

I foresee the standard US setlist being played tonight. Hopefully, I'll be proved wrong!

DarkLord_Lalinc

I think you're gonna be proved wrong. Mike Mangini's getting a solo spot, and it's already been said that the acoustic set will find its way to the new DVD. So, I predict a mix between the old setlist and the new one.

That may be. However, JLB said that they will have a fixed setlist that will be very likely played at every show before they start playing more than one night per country. This setlist is what I see being very similar to the standard setlist. It's not impossible that they will revert back to the European/Asian A-set, which the band seemed to aknowledge as the best. Or they could do a mashup.

We will see the same setlist tonight for the next several nights until they get into Argentina and then Brazil, which I expect the setlist switching to begin in Argentina. I think all the other shows will get setlist A, which we will see tonight.

Hey! First message here guys. Well... JP said by phone in a chilean radio (I am from Chile) that they will be playing for about 2.30-2.45 hours in Chile and that there won't be a opener for the show.

Perhaps it will be the same duration for the other shows in S.America. It's a strong possibility.

Cheers.

So its not quite an Evening With but in between, I'm jelly.

Progmetty

That is a mother loving Evening With, damn these Guacamolian mofos are lucky.
Obviously we won't get to know the set list until tomorrow if not later  :-\

"URGENT MESSAGE TO GUATEMALA CITY TONIGHT: The show will start late. Here's the message I got: "the computer system in the Customs office in Guatemala was down all night, so the cargo was delayed at customs today. But the equipment truck is arriving soon and there will be a show tonight. Please be patient. We look forward to giving you the best show we can." Here's the bright side: I've been practicing more today in my hotel than before any gig in history, so I can't wait to get the show rolling ! Keep cool - we'll be on stage ASAP."

Yea, that sucks to hear. At least the show is still happening despite the delay!  :metal

Also, EVENING WITH, FUCK YEA. The only thing that sucks is that I won't be able to experience it myself.

And let me be the first one to mention it, but we will see Octavarium on this leg?

Progmetty

I think they probably focused their efforts on rehearsing for the DVD song and if TCOT was too long for it then Octavarium is out of the question.

DarkLord_Lalinc

Yeah, I think it will be a big mashup of most songs we've seen throughout all the past legs.

ResultsMayVary

I know mentioning Octavarium was crazy, but I think we will see a few short songs to finally make their debut with Mangini on drums. That is definitely in the cards, though.

I think it would be awesome to see a show that late. It wouldn't stop me from :metal

nestcmartin

They're playing Outcry right now. So South America gets all the four ADTOE epics in one show: BITS, LNF, Outcry and probably BAI.  :metal

robwebster

What a bunch of troopers! Good stuff, Dream Theater. Much respect. The show must go on!

Liking the setlist, too. European style, but with a few modifications. Very cool.
