Hey everyone, so this question really only refers to people who store there music on iTunes or a computer. (which I'm guessing is most people now a days) But anyways I'm one who buys most of my music physically and has CD's, but I import all those CD's into iTunes to listen on my iPod, well my iPod Classic broke earlier this week and I'm now borrowing one of my family members until mine is fixed. The problem here is this iPod touch is only 8 gigs where as mine is 160. Now I get to the point one of the first things I did with this iPod was add my entire Dream Theater collection to it (can't live without my DT  :P) and I noticed that the collection is 3.06 gigs, now I'm including everything here, studio albums, live albums, Official bootlegs, etc, etc. I won't hesitate to say that this is the most space any artist or band take up in my iTunes library and I'm still buying DT music, but I was just curious as to the size of some of the collections on here.

so my stats here right now are: 3.06 GB, 34 Albums and 266 songs.

Might be a weird or silly topic but hey, I thought it was kinda interesting.

WheyWaffles

16.8 GB, no iTunes though.  I only encode lossless so it's all FLAC.   It's also the most I have of any one band, Fates Warning coming in second at 11 GB.

KevShmev

2.19 GB on iTunes.

That is not including the edited versions of several songs I did for workout purposes (like editing out the first 1:45 or so of Home, since that intro can be a killjoy if I am in the middle of a run and I don't want to have to slow down to fast forward).

TheGreatPretender

8.5 gigs, mostly MP3, varying between 192, 256 and 320k. Also my backup of ADTOE in FLAC format. But all the albums I have on CD, so I need to rerip a few of them in higher quality.

Nick

9.79 gigs of official stuff ripped as MP3.

Over 600 gigs of bootlegs, and that's a conservative figure.

And of course lots of CDs, DVDs, and other stuff in my actual collection.

wolven74

118 items, 16.4 hours, 1.57 gigs. That's every studio release, minus the greatest hit.

BlobVanDam

20.7Gb of DT music (mp3 and flac), 12gb of which is official releases. All of the studio albums are ripped as flac.
18.7gb of DT videos (that includes bootleg videos, misc stuff off Youtube, and doesn't include any DVDs)

tristl

13,10 GB, only music, all cds  and transfered to itunes with apple lossless :heart,
Metallica i have 15,35 GB, but they have just more official material.

TheGreatPretender

I hate iTunes. I wouldn't let it touch my music library with a 10 foot pole.

wasteland

About 25~30GB of official releases. Circa 800GB counting all the bootlegs (audio and video).  :metal

Implode

Of course I have to go right after wasteland...

I know not of size, but I have 341 DT songs on my iPhone.

Another_Won

On my computer I've got 50G in videos and almost 15G in music.  The great thing is that using a bit rate of 320 (which sounds pretty decent on a small mobile device) you can get all their official realeases down to under 5G.

In fact I've got that plus all the videos for about 30G on my phone.  Never without DT :metal

bobs23

Audio 2.5TB (not including 400+ CD's of boots)
Video 7TB includes source cameras and final edits (including side projects)

Implode

Sycsa

105 GB, which includes all DT and many DT related albums, DVDs, MP's archives, Jordan's Keyboard Madness, downloaded YouTube videos(e.g. The Spirit Carries on), etc.

.......but I bet your copy of PMU still cuts off at the end.

Scorpion

237 titles, 20 albums, 4.43 GB in total.

I think that it is the most that I have by a band (though not in length, only in terms of file size!).

TheGreatPretender

If we're talking about the amount of titles, I have 1138 files in my DT folder all together. These do include the singles, the instrumentals, stems, and some edits that I've made to make songs better, like cutting out the samples from SDV and HTF. But no live bootlegs or anything. I should get some of those maybe.

krands85

18.22gb of audio files. Most of the studio albums in FLAC, all the studio/live albums in MP3, plus bootlegs in a mix of FLAC/MP3. Then a load of video files too which are spread out all over the place, so I don't know how much of those there are ;D
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

How on earth do you have time to listen to all of that?

I have an ultra warped version that segues to "You Light Up My Life"    :rollin

Zydar

My DT folder is 16.8 GB and contains all the studio albums ripped in FLAC + some solo projects and official bootlegs.

Anymore, I don't. I recently gave all my old physical CDs and DVDs to YtseRush as he can listen through them all. I will still listen to a show from time to time, but most of the shows in my collection will never be heard/seen again.

I count my solo projects separately. So I have a 535Mb James LaBrie folder as well, which includes Winter Rose, his 2 Mullmuzzler albums, 2 JLB albums and Roswell Six project that he worked on.

Dark Castle

Well it was a good amount, but Itues decided it should delete 86% of my library, Dream Theater among the slaughtered.

TAC

My iPod:
29.59 Gigs
2333 songs
13.2 days

Have about 110 bootlegs on my iPod.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Doesn't getting old and having responsibilities like... totally suck?

Madman Shepherd

638 Songs which include all official bootlegs, albums, and live albums.  encoded at 128 its about 4.55 GB.  I'm almost out of room on my 120gb ipod with almost all songs encoded at that...and I might add I own the physical copy of almost every CD in my collection.

Elite

Around 13-14 GB. This includes every studio album, live album, all singles, every official bootleg and all fanclub CDs.
