Haha, this was actually posted in the LNF thread (or something similar), but this one has a better view on the stage.
Pretty cool!

Who sings the second voice? MM?

rumborak

It's a tape (I'm pretty sure).

That's my bet.

JLB sings the higher part of the section of the song and they have a backing track of the lower vocal part playing over the same section.

I'm thinking LNF is CJS's nemesis this leg.
Look at all us freaks cluttering your city streets
Still scalping their ticket-less applause
Spun monkeys on the railroad track, take me to the caine field; I walk along pick my spiderbite
Basically Kyoko Kirigiri

:lol and Petrucci joins him! It would have been incredible if Myung laid down too.

Gadough

And THAT'S how you turn a potentially embarrassing situation into something funny. Well done, James.

I thought JR was talking about his ability to trigger vocals from his keyboard during one of his Vokle (sp?) talks before they started touring last year.  I just assumed he has been launching the background vocals.

I lol'd so hard at that video  :lol. The sound JP's guitar makes when James picks him up is hilarious hahahaha

JP pushing him down and later playing laying on the floor killed me :rollin

TAC

Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Darklol, the way that you write laughter ("kekekekeke") looks very strange, imho. I know a Mexican guy who does it "jajajajajaja", do you have an idea as to why that is? Regional differences?

Rattlehead

James does a good job playing it off, seems he has a good sense of humor  :yarr

I wish footage of the incident in Minneapolis would surface.  I asked James about it the other night, and he said he wasn't paying attention and just walked right off the edge of the stage and was just like, "Okay, how did this happen?"  :lol

I know "kekeke" is the romanized Korean for "hahaha", and I'm pretty sure "jajaja" is the Spanish way of writing "hahaha" because the "J" in it is supposed to be pronounced as in "jalapeno". Not sure about the latter though.

As mentioned, the fact that JP pushes him back down, then joins him on the floor was gold.  Great way to turn an accident into some fun.  :lol

What happened there?

Edit: oh wait, he walked off the edge of the stage. How did it look like?  :lol

A little bit off topic... Indeed, here in Mexico we use "jajaja" or "jejeje" for that reason, I've always found funny/interesting the way people in different countries write laughter.

JM is in mental control of whatever happens in stage. He directs JP's, JR's and Mangini's playing, and once in a while he makes James trip just for the heck of it. All that while he's playing his bass. Watch closely and that's exactly what happened. Or that's what I like to think.

It was really weird because one second he was onstage and the next, the security guy shoots out of his chair and the crowd is surrounding James on the floor. To be perfectly honest, it looked like he wear going to sing in the audience

We didn't need this video to know that this was happening. A lot of bands do it these days, no big deal IMO.

That was only for a split second and if you listen closely, it's the backing vocals you hear (which are indeed probably on tape0, but James' main line comes in straight after that second.

James LaBrie is so awesome, that his voice carries through time so that every line he sings would continue for several seconds without him even doing anything. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Classy
Oh no pleaseeeeeeee

What's the problem??
:) Sorry, recently there was a thread about the word "classy" being overused among sports commentators. And now, JLB laying on the floor for 1 minute and JP joining him is described as "classy".
