I was just watching the WDADRU version of TKH, and was intrigued by John Myung's bass solo near the end. What kind of effects is he using there? It cuts right through everything clearly, and the chords almost sound guitar-like. I'm interested because I'm considering using those effects as a technique in a song, where the bass plays chords like that, while guitar plays clean arpeggiated chords and the keyboard actually plays low bass notes in place of bass guitar, kind of like swapping all 3 instruments for eachother.

It's the same one he has been using for years, I think.

I'll try to upload a clip of that... He would just come close and randomly (or not?) pluck some strings until John swirled away...  :lol
