WELL!!!!  In a Dramatic turn of Events....... :|    The ticket agency I bought my Anaheim tix from called me today and informed me that the tix I bought were not available, and should have been removed from their website.  SO!!!  They didn't have anything decent for Anaheim (which is pretty much sold out), so I asked about the Gibson show.  They hooked me up In ORCH 2 row EE, these tix go for about $70 more for each ticket than the Anaheim tix.  I would have preffered Anaheim because of my work schedule, but what can ya do!  At least they did me a solid on the tix  ;D

So...... do we have plans for a  pre-show Meet???  :hat

DarkLord_Lalinc

I'm going to this show with a Mexican fellow friend (coming from Mexico). I don't know how I'll be able to contact you people...I'll try to connect to the internet to post here and tell you all where I am. You all probably know how I look like by now, considering my spam in the post your picture thread.  :lol

CrimsonSunrise

I'll be with my Nephew, who drums in a local band "The Greater Heights"  Anyone who wants to hook up for drinks or food, give me a shout...  562 822 8345

Meet & Greet itinerary was emailed to me today.  So stoked.  Started writing down my questions for each member.  Going directly from the airport (from SF show) to the venue so I don't think I'll be able to meet any folks before the show, other than those DTFers who have the VIP package.  Give a shout if you are M&Ging in L.A.

IF you DTFers have any good (and I mean good) questions you would like me to pose to the band as I quickly make my rounds at the M&G table, please lemme know.

For example, here's a possible questions I have for JP:

"What were the two songs from A Dramatic Turn of Events that you felt vocally were not coming together and compelled you to fly to Toronto to work on with James and Rich Chycki?"

JP mentioned this in an interview when the album was released and the interviewer did not think to ask this follow-up.  Duh!!

I would like to know if we are going to see more of the drummer audition footage. That would be a good question. Enjoy the show. We see them in Richmond and DC in two weeks. Not doing the M&G though.

Yeah, this.  I was going to ask last night, and just didn't get to it.

M&G highlights based on my questions to band:

Jp confirms dvd will shoot in south america. Not huntington.

Jlb begins tracking his new solo album oct 20

Full report following show.

Awesome show!  My highlight... JMX getting up on the drum riser with JP, that was a first in my 10 or so times seeing the band  :metal

Sound was pretty decent, JR was a little low in the mix from our vantage point, but overall it was good!  My Nephew, who drums for a local band was just absolutely floored by the show.  ;D

I completely understand that. :) Luckily for me, I managed to both tape and enjoy the show, at the expence of much of my left arm functionality  :rollin It wasn't video, though

Sigz

Awesome show. Didn't get to meet up with darklol due to communication problems though :sadpanda:

Crimson ProjeKct was awesome though, and it was pretty awesome that Danny Carrey came on and played a bit too :metal

Also, I was super happy to see Metropolis, I'd never gotten to see it all the through before.

CrimsonSunrise

Yeah, I usually don't catch the openers, but Crimson ProjeKct was wicked good  :tup

Where I was sitting last night, about midway in the venue, the sound was great.  Particular highlights would probably be This is the Life, and TSCO. Just really relate to those 2 songs right now.  JLB sounded super good.  My sister kept asking "How does he sing like that, for 2 hours?".

The audience seemed to enjoy themselves.  The people sitting and the people standing in our section got along a bit better than last year's show.  No screaming matches at least, although a couple "please sit down" requests were made.  People either stood or sat as they pleased.  And ultimately, everyone enjoyed a really, really good show.

Everyone spits. haha. I think its the frequent nature of MP's act that made it infamous! :lol

JimTandem

Great show at the Gibson. Did anyone one else hear the screw-up during Metropolis? It was midway thru the song during the all out jam section. Took about a full measure to get back in sync.

I'm pretty sure it may have been JP , because after the finale MM came out from behind the drums and he and JP gave each other a big hug while talking, and as they broke away from each other MM gave the "What me? No...you! as he pointed to JP and they were laughing.

Some guy has most of the songs on Youtube but not the encore, so I can't be sure. Nice to know DT are human after all!  Jeez, can they kick ass.

RaiseTheKnife

Yeah -- Mangini messed up the build into the bass solo section, jumping ahead to the staccato breaks too soon.  JP whipped around and MM mouthed the words "I'm Sorry!".  After the show MM indicated it might have been JP, but when he saw folks in the audience shaking their heads, he realized it was really his flub.
