Thought it would be a cool idea to start a thread where we could post cool DT-related experiences that we've had in public. I hope we don't have one already.

I'll start.

I was in Westfield, New Jersey, visiting my cousins and hanging outside GameStop, when this convertible comes racing down the street (this is downtown), with the stereo blasting real loud. The guy in the car was rocking out to This is the Life. It was amazing. And really loud, too.

It was awesome.

Meeting the band (with MM). That counts as in public, right?

Myung didn't really say anything lol.

Dr. DTVT

If Myung likes you, you get a special gift, like the one he gave me.  I can only assume you're not a's awesome as me.

I take it Myung gave you an extra apostrophe to put in a place where it doesn't belong?

Mladen

LaBrie pointed at me during Build me up, break me down, when I saw them in Budapest about a month ago. It was awesome.  :metal

Aren't you the guy who got  a sharpie from him?

I had a dream where DT was playing A Nightmare to Remember, and I pretty much heard it verbatum. They all had pumpkin heads which was weird. During the Beautiful Agony section I was falling through the sky.

Metro

I was just in Sam Ash, and on a TV at the pedal counter, they were playing Metropolis 2000: Scenes from New York.

The first and only time I ever heard a DT song on the radio. It was Wither though.

Tongue doesn't count.

The only DT music video I have seen on TV.

It was a rock program, though.

Oh, it isn't cool, because it is a bad song.

Cool that they played DT, but uncool that it was a pretty underwhelming song. I can still enjoy the song, though, it's not like I think it's bad.

Makes sense, though. That's why they made that song.

Yes it does. We all know their best songs is too good for mainstream radio.  :tup

Actually it isn't. It's boring.

It's the single from what was their latest album. And given that "DT on the radio" should probably be an oxymoron, it's cool that they're getting any radio play whatsoever.

slycordinator

I've mentioned it once or twice over the years but I met Tim Roth in the bar at the Paramount Theater back in 2003 before the DT show.

I'd been in class all morning/afternoon, drove 1.5 hours, had a drink, and some guy started chatting and asked me if I wanted to meet the guy.

Me: I don't know who he is. I'm really bad with names.
Him: You will when you see him.
Me: Ok.

We go to him, I recognize him and blank on any of the movies I saw him in. Then his friend gets all pissy and noticeably agitated that I hadn't seen Reservoir Dogs. Then Tim gets the idea that his friend is getting too angry and decides to diffuse the situation and go meet MP backstage.

A few minutes later the first movie I recall seeing him in comes to mind: the totally atrocious "The Musketeer" (although Roth was the only thing any good in it).
