John has a new pedal from TC Electronics, the Dreamscape.

I am reading this correct? In order to meet John at one of his appearances, you need to buy one of these in advance for him to sign?

I am in the SF area and I would really like to go see him, but not if I need to buy a goofy new effect for $250.

BTW: I play guitar and I am totally into vintage gear and some new stuff as well.

I just shit my pants because I was expecting this to be about his new solo album.

I am very disappoint.

Don't be shitting you pants! That would be messy and smelly and downright gross!

Also, no, it doesn't say anywhere in this article that you'd need to buy the pedal before meeting Petrucci. It does say that "For die-hard Petrucci fans, picking up The Dreamscape online or at one of these exclusive Guitar Center locations ahead of time or online, is a must as Petrucci will only be signing The Dreamscape at these in store appearances", but this sentence basically says "If you want your Dreamscape signed, come get your Dreamscape signed".

^^^ What's funnier is that it's basically saying "Come get it signed here because he's only signing them here" as if Petrucci would refuse to sign yours if you brought it with you to a DT show or something.

yea if you want to spend an additional $300 for a platinum ticket..

It seems to be saying he's only signing the pedal and nothing else at the appearances.  That's how I read it anyway.  Similar to many book signings, I guess.

chucke

Cool... I will be going, although I am a little skeptical about the date.

April Fools Day.

With my luck instead of Petrucci being there, it will be one of the Jonas Brothers.  :omg:

Kotowboy

Can't imagine JP refusing to sign anything else - he doesn't seem the type.

He's not Axl Rose or someone like that.

Or Ray Parks or whoever charging fans for autographs.

chucke

How early do you think I should get there in order to get in????

rumborak

That pedal will probably be prominently feature in the next "JP's gear tour" video, and if you actually traced the cables in the back they would just be dangling there.
