Came here to ask if BVD made the video for this but I guess not.
Really not a fan to be honest, its different to anything they've done before but it just doesn't do anything for the song, imo

Shadow2222

Didn't they do some type of lyric video contest for this song?

JimmyJava

It was...alright but pretty damn stale and seeing the same animation for "Crash And Burn" 6 times was just tiresome.

Pinga

Wasted effort that could have gone into making an actual video. Which is a shame, considering Build Me Up, Break Me Down was specifically written to be the closest thing to a single on the album.

I thought it was cool despite the repetitiveness.  It's a lyric video.  Nothing more.

InfraredDream

A little too repetitive for me. You don't actually realize how repetitive the song itself is until they put it on your face by this video.
I will just say there were better lyrics videos in their competition then this one.
(I may be too spoiled though considering I see great renderings every day because of my work.)

I have to say that until now I was not very familiar with the concept of the "Official Lyric Video"

Me too. Never heard about that type of video.

looks like it was done with PowerPoint.

video totally unnecessary.

I would love to see you try that in Powerpoint, if for no other reason than for you to realize how much you're underestimating how much work actually went into this, despite the somewhat repetitive nature of it.

Well... in general it looks more like a RRR thing...

My especulation is that it was something like:

RRR: hey guys we are doing the "official lyric video" for some of the artists in RRR... so we were wondering if you wanna get in? You only have to approve of it once it is done?
DT: hmmm.... that should be ok...

althought yeah I don't think it was necessary ... The unicycle /artwork animations look cool... they could have used those with live footage to do a proper video...

but anyway... just think about it as an "official lyric video" nothing more...

Lynxo

Didn't do anything for me, but I don't really see the need to get so worked up about it - we already have a kick ass video.

hefdaddy42

It's the best lyric video I've ever seen.

That is all.

Songs are repetitive.  Lyrics are repetitive and yet people are complaining about a lyric video being repetitive.  :lolpalm:

First of all, not all songs are repetitive. But if you take a repetitive song and play the exact same animation every time during the chorus, this draws attention to the repetitiveness.

It's a very well done video, but I don't know if it's the best in terms of how much I enjoyed watching it. Even the fan one for Far From Heaven was more interesting IMO.

Well, I was speaking in general terms.  Most songs do have a chorus and most choruses are repetitive.  Where's most of the repetitiveness in the video?  The chorus.  It's no big deal.

lithium112, indeed! My thoughts exactly for both statements!
