just seen this on D.T.'s facebook  and thought it was worth a share
"2011 has been quite an amazing year for us. We watched 'A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS'—our eleventh studio album—enter the Top Ten in 14 countries around the world including the U.S. And now we land our first-ever Grammy nomination [for the song "On The Backs of Angels" in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category]. It's the icing on the cake--we're honored and thrilled, no doubt about it. It took us a while to receive this Grammy attention--and we've done it on our own terms musically, so it feels particularly sweet. What keeps you going as a musician is the love and support from the fans--they are always there for us on this crazy adventure. So we give them a big shout-out as we celebrate our Grammy nomination. See you all on the road...and let's all keep dreaming big."

Is there is a radio edit/singles version of On The Backs of Angels?

I would say that the fact they didn't made a mutilation of the song for a radio or video release means A LOT, it means that they really want everybody to get them as they really are.

Super Dude

That's pretty incredible, never thought I'd see the day. I don't even care if they don't win, just getting nominated is huge.

Not many can really say this. I'm loving it.  :)

Because they won't change to fit anybody's plan.

You know what would be really cool is if they were invited to play OTBOA at the Grammys on TV  :eek

I know it's a pipe dream, but still.

This is huge. I just feel sort of bad for MP--he leaves and DT gets into the Long Island rock and roll Hall of Fame (I think that is what it's called but I'm having a brain fart so ) and then they get nominated for a Grammy. But aside from that, I'm SOOO excited. I don't watch the Grammys but I definitely shall watch them just for MM, JP, JR, JLB and JM... :heart :heart well done boys...

I would not be surprised if the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category wasn't a part of the telecast. Not all categories are.

Pretty sure it used to be, but since hard rock/metal is not a platinum selling genre anymore, it's done during the commercials.

But I don't watch the Grammy's

Good job for DT though, the recognition is cool in of itself.

I'm out as a fan, DT is too mainstream now!
