so mike portnoy's grandfather owned a theater. my good friend's dad worked in said theater.
he also went to school and was in the same grade as petrucci's older brother
he went to see dt when they were still majesty
and happened to pick this up, which he then passed on to me:

what exactly is the rarity of this object?

wasteland

This may be quite valuable, actually. What are the songs in your cassette?

One of a kind brother, one of a kind if you have twitter account you may send the pic to JP or MP that'd a cool memory even of they dont answer you back.

SlickSy

That be the 1986 Majesty demo cassette. It's pretty much the first music the band created together. It's a very rare item and goes for decent amount on sites like eBay.

Madman Shepherd

That is priceless.  I don't have any references to back this up, but even if you could get 200-300 bucks for it, what does that really get you? 20 CDs?  A small television?

What you have in your hand along with your story is something that just can't have a dollar amount tacked on.

Of course if someone wanted to offer you $10,000 or more then yeah, I wouldn't blame you for giving it up...but that isn't going to happen.  Hold onto it and pass it on to your kids.

A few people here are lucky enough to have a copy of this, but not too many have a cool story like that goes with it.

I got mine (sealed) at a record fair about a year or so after When Dream and Day Unite came out.

Your story is much cooler than mine.

Just my opinion of course, but I don't think the expanded reissue of this on Ytsejam Records takes much away from the collector value of this cassette.

That's an important part of Dream Theater history.

awaiting response.

Well like i said I personally wouldn't expect a direct response, at least coming from JP, I would say that you may have a 30% of probability of getting a response from MP, but at least you sent them a great memory  :tup
