For digital files, I have some super rare stuff that I probably can't even mention.
You know the deal, Blob. Hand it over.

lumpy33

i have the cd with the original cover art for scenes from a memory with the flaming heart engulfing the nyc skyline including the twin towers.  it came out two weeks before 9/11.  i lived a few miles from ground zero at the time and i remember going into tower records in manhattan not too long after 9/11 (a week or so, maybe?) and seeing a new version of the cd with different artwork and thinking, wow - that was quick.

hefdaddy42

Well, there is no such thing as "most unique".  Something is either unique or not.

But the only things I have that would belong in this discussion are I&W Live in Tokyo on VHS and the litho of the Systematic Chaos album cover signed by the band done as a promotion for preorders.

the Dream Theater biography autographed by portnoy/petrucci/rudess/myung/labrie.

This also, except mine's missing LaBrie's sig, but has my name on the list of names in the back since i pre-ordered 1st edition.

SlickSy

I don't really have anyhting unique. I just have some rare items. Like the Another Day CD single and the Majesty cassette tape for example. Not sure how rare those are.

They are rare, especially the Majesty cassette.

Nothing crazy:

Images & Words CD signed by John Petrucci, John Myung, James LaBrie and Mike Portnoy
Lost In The Sky Bootleg 2CD
When Dream And Day Unite LP
Dream Theater while performing as Majesty Demo 1986 CD
Dream Theater - InstruMental - The 1987 Recordings CD

YtseBitsySpider

Nothing crazy here.
Im going to expand "catalogue" to mean shirts too.

I have a shirt from the mini-tour with YES.
I had won tickets to the show on the radio, then decided seeing them play a weak set to placate YES fans wasn't worth a two hour drive. So I gave the tickets away, on the promise of getting a shirt.

It's a kacki military green colour with the bands faces in white on the front, and tour dates on the back.

Mladen

Probably this edition of Systematic chaos, I guess not a lot of people went with this one. It's still far from being a unique item, though.

Nekov

The only unique thing in my DT catalog would be the Live Scenes From NY CD just because it's the only live album I have from them.

And it's not even the one with the burning twin towers....

Dr. DTVT

I have an official DT sharpie that JMX gave me.  I posted the pics before, but I'm on my phone so you can search for them yourself if you want to see it.

I forgot about that.  I'm there too.

Also, how unique is the 16 minute When Images and Words Unite medley.  I've got that.

I think Majesty cassette is a extremely rare item  :eek Can you post a photo?

My rarest item... Live Scenes from New York with the twin towers, but part of the cover is written in corean so I suposse it's not as rare as the US one. Also I have the Simpson-shirt and both things came  in a box. Nothing really special  :-\

PetFish

I'm also "giving away" most of my unique/rare DT items through this contest:

https://www.dt-x.com/
https://www.dt-x.com/challenge06-adtoe.html

So if anybody wants a chance to win something please get inspired and make some DT artwork for the site and fans to enjoy and maybe you'll get something.  :)

TheSoylentMan

I have a "Selections from Six Degrees" promo with the 4 radio edits. Same track listing as the "Four Degrees..." DTIFC release. I also have the Lie and Silent Man singles and the original Live Scenes CD. So... nothing super rare I guess.

I remember seeing a gold stamp promo of Six Degrees in a used CD store years ago and not buying it for some reason

The Letter M

I have most of the DTIFC CDs and both of the DVDs, as well as a few singles (HY, THE, LIE, and TSM). I'd say that's about it. Oh, and there's the signed Litho that came with a pre-order of Systematic Chaos. That's probably about all I have that's truly "unique" or special in my collection. Everything else is pretty easy to get/cheap to buy.

They are rare, especially the Majesty cassette.

There were 1,000 Majesty cassettes made... no idea how many still exist.  The "Another Day" CD might actually be worth a bit more though.  That one is fairly highly sought after.

petrucci07

I have a promo of Forsaken Live from Chaos In Motion. I also have a PN08 Poster, a signed copy of SFAM and 2 signed copies of Awake.

Elite

Probably the first pressing of John Petrucci's Rock Discipline dvd.

A few unique things
Platinum RIAA plaque for Score
Promo discs for the last 5 albums (not ADTOE)
Lifting Shadows book signed by the band and author
Drums sticks from each tour from 6DOIT through BC&SL
Backstage pass from each tour 6D through present
Drums sticks from LTE
A bucketload of "special recordings"
MP signed copy of Romavarium
I'm sure some other things

Nihil-Morari

The forsaken/Some-random-Symphony-X-Song vinyl single, probably.

Or some CD bootleg, or the "Voices" Covers double CD.
And some DTIFC cd's, starting with the SoC competition.

Oh and how about the Tie Your Mother Down Electronic Remixes of the Remixes cd with JLB on it?

Double points.  Not only is it fairly uncommon, but it also may be the single worst item in the entire DT-related-releases catalog.

Not sure if this qualifies as unique, but I have a cassette copy of an old DT concert with Dominici on vocals... the show opens with Metropolis.

I also have a cassette copy of a Majesty show with Collins on vocals.  I believe during that show they play a version of Afterlife with original/alternate lyrics.

I am pretty sure they qualify as unique as hell.  :hefdaddy

Could you name the other tracks from the dominici show? Was The Killing Hand played?

The Dream Theater show is from NY in 88:
1.  Metropolis
2.  Afterlife
3.  Forever
4.  The Ytse Jam
5.  The Killing Hand

The Majesty show is from NY in 86:
1.  Another Won
2.  Cry for Freedom
3.  Gates of Babylon
4.  Your Majesty
5.  March of the Tyrant
6.  Afterlife

I have literally never played it since I discovered it was the electronic version one. Although, I do have to check it out again to see if it really ís that one.

Haha that's brilliant! So it's basically just an audio version of Rock Discipline? Effectively?

That seems to be the actual first cassette from the band, if it's not a very good copy. It says it was received by the seller from the band.

It's not.

That's the instrumental demo cassette they made after Chris Collins left.  The original demo was from 1986.  There was only one test pressing for the 1986 demo, and it's sitting in my cabinet :).

They did another demo in 1987, but on a much smaller scale.  It's extremely rare - I've never seen another one before.  But I doubt it's worth $1,000.00
