Wow, when did that show get added.  Dec 1st?  Makes me think that some November gigs will pop up to fill in the missing weeks.  In any event, I'll drive down to San Diego that night to see DT (3rd time this tour!)  Unless, of course this is a mistake, cuz the band's website does not list this show yet, hmmmm.

EDIT:  Interestingly enough, the Balboa Theater website lists the show, tix onsale Friday Oct.14  Giddy-Up!!!!

Any additional dates around the December 1st area?

TAC

So far just San Diego and Phoenix. Be interested to see where this leg takes them.

Phoenix, AZ added for 12/4

https://www.mesaartscenter.com/index.php/shows/music-concerts/dreamtheater

So we have

12/1 San Diego

12/4 Phoenix

My bet is Vegas, Denver, possibly Tucson fill in the blanks

Do you think DT is purposely hitting up places that they haven't been in years? If so, I can hope for an Ohio date.

Yeah, probably.
I hope those Phoenix people are happy. They finally got their promised date!

JayOctavarium

Hmmm I am tempted...

I wouldn't mind a Bakersfield / Fresno date... if they have time... :neverusethis:

seriously though.

In this interview here, JP mentions 5 weeks on, a couple of weeks off, then 2 weeks on, then a couple of weeks off, and then 5 weeks on tour again. It's pretty obvious the first 5 weeks is the current tour and the European tour is the second 5 weeks he mentions, but could the two week deal be this San Diego/Phoenix plus possibly more dates?

If so, they can play quite a bit of shows in two weeks. Here's to hoping for an Ohio date.

We are very happy. Dream Theater have not done a headlining set here since 2007. We did get an opening set last summer with Maiden, so we were fortunate to get one last little gig with Portnoy.

However, a 45 minute set from Dream Theater is not very satiating, lol.

My expectations for this 2 week run )as Petrucci stated) is beyond Phoenix and San Diego: Vegas, Denver, possibly Tucson, Albuquerque, maybe penetration into the mid-west... over two weeks they could do 8 - 10 dates allowing for time off and travel. So far we have two. They won't go far between SD  & Phoenix, so 12/2, 12/3 could be Vegas or Tucson.

Keep your eye on local venue sites, and Ticketmaster. We knew about the SD & Phx date days before it was on the Dream Theater site. Of course, check this forum, diligent posters will announce it here before anywhere else, lol.

The same thing happened with the announcement of the dates for the North American tour. They had dates announced in bulk from DT's side, but some venues posted dates here and there before the big announcement.

My guess is that DT is holding out until all dates are confirmed on their end before they announcement the entire mini-tour. I expect to see maybe one or two more dates announced via the venues before we see a bulk date announcement from DT.

I am so happy about this, you don't even know.

Is it still going to be Trivium opening? Or are they going to have someone else?

I bet they will have an opener, but it's not going to be Trivium. Trivium will be elsewhere for these dates.

who is up for a meet up?

yeshaberto

oh wow, I just noticed that they don't go on sale till 14th!

I guess i accidentally got them under pre-sale  :lol

I followed the link via dt.net and then went to ticketmaster.com and did a google search for the pre-sale code for square peg concerts and entered it and got the seats.
