We come to it at last, the great battle of our time (featuring grotesque creatures).

The two most hated upon DT albums? Nice   This one's easy, FII.  I'll take it over TOT, SC, and BC&SL.

Tis BOOLsheet

:lol I thought about including it, but yea you just explained that for me.

Also, I would like to say that both albums are underrated.
FII has seemed to slowly gain some respect over the years, but it's still a really great album if you enjoy the simpler melodic songwriting and aren't too hung up on genre.
And SC is a lot better than people give it credit for. PoW is a bit of a wtf moment, and Repentance drags a bit, but I really love the rest of the album. I'd probably still have to rank it as one of DT's lower albums just based on the strength of the rest of their albums, but it's still a great album.

Tis BOOLsheet

nevermind, i just listened to you not me again. SC is definitely better lol.

TheGreatPretender

I love Systematic Chaos. It's not the most popular DT album, but I hold it in very high regards, and so definitely SC.
FII had some of the most unique DT songs ever (Lines in the Sand for example), so it definitely gets points for that... But I dunno, I loved the power of SC, and the melodies and everything on it were amazing.

Tis BOOLsheet

what it really came down to was lines in the sand v. presence of enemies pt 1

those 2 songs are extremely high quality.

TheGreatPretender

The thing is though, ITPOE starts the album off... And that can actually be a big part of how the overall album feels. It should start powerful and get the energy going. Think PMU, Overture 1928, The Glass Prison, etc.
With FII, personally, I think New Millennium is a relatively weak song by DT's standards, and starting the album off with it wasn't the best idea... Hell, if they dropped it from the album and instead included Raise The Knife and started the album off with that, I might be singing a different song, so to speak.

Yup, the best songs from both albums. And FII is my answer.

Progmetty

Systematic Chaos. I think I've listened to the whole FII album like 3 times ever, I really don't like it.

?

My 2 least favorite DT albums! ;D I choose FII - while it does have some of their worst songs, the lyrics are better and it doesn't have unnecessarily long instrumental sections. Also, the highs on FII are better than the ones on SC.

Infinite Cactus

FII is number 3, SC is 11 for me. FII by far.

Nofire

It has to be FII for me. Mainly because the first experiences I had with DT were songs from that album (LiTS, ToT) and they made me fall in love with the band. SC is not a bad album, but some songs on there just doesn't "grab" me (Forsaken, CM, TDEN, PoW). On the other hand, I think ITPOE and TMOLS are fantastic songs. But all in all, FII wins. Just for the record, I agree that RTK should have been on that album. Probably a top 10 DT song for me.

Sketchy

I love both, although I don't love SC as much as WDADU, which is below FII. I love FII, from a songriting perspective, it's got some of DT's best efforts.

Well, I love Falling Into Infinity.  :heart

and

I don't really like SC at all.

So FII for sure.

Mladen

Systematic chaos. FII is still my least favorite one.

D_Halco

FII has four of my favorite DT songs- New Millenium, Hell's Kitchen, Lines In The Sand, and Trial Of Tears. I wouldnt mind if they made songs of a similar bent like these again. FII really is a vastly underrated album.

SC has...a neat album cover, but seriously I do love Ministry Of Lost Souls (besides the instrumental middle), but I can really leave the rest of the album off my playlist. I think SC is their worst album by far.

tot
itpoe

anna lee

tmols

rest belongs into the derp category.

wow its really hard, the highs are very good indeed, while the lows are, well, low

jesus, well if i had to choose between these two albums to listen to for the rest of my life, i guess i would have to go with SC

Gysten

Falling Into Infinity is an awesome album, and Systematic Chaos is for the most part boring, so FII.

This was a pretty easy choice and I suspect this poll will be a runaway for Falling Into Infinity

Bolsters

I'm actually surprised that many people voted for Systematic Chaos. ???

FII has the worst low points of any album in DT's catalog, including WDADU.

That said, if Systematic Chaos were removed from existence tomorrow, I don't think any of my top 50 or so DT songs would be affected.

So yeah, FII by a long shot.

reza_122

why do FII currently win from SC???
I don't accept it, I think FII is the worst DT album,
SC is better than FII ....

ZKX-2099

Tricky pick for me here. Went with Falling Into Infinity though.

The quality of SC is steady start to finish, where as Falling Into Infinity is kinda hit or miss. But I went with Falling Into Infinity because its high points ( LITS, NM, TOT, HK) are better than all of SC.

If I had to list the three worst songs from the two albums combined, two of the three would be from SC (Constant Motion and Forsaken).

Because the great majority disagrees with you and thinks FII is the better record.

So true.  Trial of Tears, Lines in the Sand, Hell's Kitchen and Peruvian Skies all obliterate everything from SC.
