Don't know if anybody's seen this one on Youtube yet. It gives you a good view of what an awesome job they did with the stage, lighting and presentation.

It just has to be fantabulous in person. Damn I wish I could go.

Roadrunner had to sink some big cash into that.

The screens are still growing on me

I'm really curious as to how they get those to work. There have to be separate monster bright projectors for each facet of the cubes hanging inside, but what's impressive it how they blend the edges of each side.

I vote we get a video from their lighting tech.

SystematicThought

They just kind of seem pointless. As soon as the lights go crazy, you can't see them and it seems really hard to see what's on it when there is something

Well, just like standard screens, you wouldn't use them when the lights are "going crazy."  But as far as being really hard to see what's going on on the screens when they are being used, it is hard to see them in the video clips, but it wasn't hard to see in a live setting.  They were actually pretty cool.  One thing I will note is that some of the time, they used a "fish eye lens" effect, which made the cubes appear three dimensional.  It was kind of a neat effect, I must say.

OK so how do we get the inside scoop on how they work?

SystematicThought

I suppose. IF they do a 2nd North American leg, I'll be able to see it for myself

DarkLord_Lalinc

The production is pretty impressive. Finally some nice stage presentation, instead of a standard video screen behind them.

It's video tech Johnny DeKam (lighting is a different guy, Steve Baird, who is also awesome), who is responsible for the new video screens and the projection, and he's done an amazing job.
The entire video rig is new this tour, and there are 3 projectors, one for each screen. The video setup can either display an image over the entire screen, or it can draw one on each individual panel of the "cube". There's a lot more fancy stuff I don't really understand, but I know a lot has gone into making it even better than past tours.

We really need a big production Blue-Ray from this tour. Something more like Score than Chaos in Motion. Maybe at Wembley?

Cyclopssss

Man, I'm really bummed I won't get to see this tour. Really praying for a DVD this time around....setup is awesome!

I agree. I don't need no more Chaos In Motion style releases, with this kind of light show we need something from one single show like Budokan or Score.

Maybe Multi-Angle with one covering just the projector's feed?

Just a thought here JP & DT, Since there are already 3 cubes used, go to 5 and then there's one full time for each band member. It always seems like they cut to the wrong guy at the wrong time. A couple more camera guys, but hey then you could just zone in on whoever-whenever.
