Obviously, if you don't want to know what they are playing on this leg, you have no business even clicking on this thread, so no complaining.

Set list last night:

1. Bridges in the Sky
2. These Walls
3. Build Me Up, Break Me Down
4. Endless Sacrifice
5. Drum Solo
6. Ytse Jam
7. The Silent Man (Acoustic - JLB, JP and JR)
8. Beneath the Surface (Acoustic with everyone except JM)
9. The Great Debate
10. On the Backs of Angels
11. Forsaken
12. Through My Words
13. Fatal Tragedy
14. Outcry
Encore
15. Under a Glass Moon

I'll give it a B.  The two acoustic numbers back to back was a brilliant idea, and opening with Bridges in the Sky is awesome.  I can't give a set list with Forsaken and These Walls in it an A, however.

I suspect many are disappointed that Breaking All Illusions wasn't played, but you gotta figure that they will be touring almost non-stop for the next year, so it will find its way in there eventually.

B.

The lack of BAI and UAGM as the only encore song are not the best choices ever IMO...

BlobVanDam

I don't know. BITS, TW and BMUBMD makes for a great opening, but Endless Sacrifice, a drum solo and Ytse Jam back to back is kind of weak. Then it redeems itself with the neat little acoustic break, and the rest of the set is good except for Outcry.

Mostly good, a bit of bad, but it still feels like it's lacking something.........

I'd give it a B or a C.

Jamesman42

B, because it wasn't average (C), but Forsaken is bad especially since nothing from FII was played (or BC&SL, though I'm fine with that). Also, they could've dropped the drum solo and TMW and put BAI in. That would've been an A. UAGM for Metropolis would be an A+
\o\ lol /o/

Acideus

I like it, but I'm missing some I&W and FII songs and I'd love to hear TCOT as well, but hey, you can't have it all.

They played pretty much all of the non ADTOE songs here on the most recent tour, seems a little odd that they'd keep virtually the same setlist. Also, I didn't think much of several of them, Forsaken and These Walls I dont like anyway and Endless Sacrifice and The great Debate are too long and drawn out for a live performance.
On the other hand, Mangini's drum solo is surprisingly entertaining, I dont usually enjoy a drum solo but his was incredible

KevShmev

I say this last night, and I will say it again: I like the set list, but the absence of any major heavy hitters is glaring.  I've always said that of stuff like Pull Me Under, Metropolis, Learning to Live, The Spirit Carries On, etc., one of those should always be played.  Those are crowd favorites that even the most casual fans are gonna know and go crazy over.  Gotta give the fans at least one of those, I say.

This pretty much sums it up for me

Holy SHIT they did an acoustic break?! Did Petrucci actually play a real acoustic guitar on stage?

fake edit: Closing the show with Outcry is the most disappointing thing on there. Really don't like that song.

Yeah, he did. Check it out on Youtube. It's good stuff. :hat

That makes me so happy!

Tis BOOLsheet

its alright: C . i would have liked it better if they dropped forsaken, build me up, endless sacrifice, and maybe a couple others and would have replaced them with lost not forgotten, and breaking all illusions. i think ending with outcry is good. i love that song.

theseoafs

Having Forsaken and These Walls but not having Breaking All Illusions is the worst thing DT could ever have done.

Jaffa

An acoustic break for The Silent Man and Beneath the Surface is abolutely  :heart

Very happy they went with Bridges as the opener.

Other than that, it seems a bit 'meh' to me.  All of the songs are enjoyable and all, but there are definitely other songs I'd rather see.

So, overall, maybe a C or a B.

EDIT:  I just realized Peruvian Skies wasn't here.  After seeing the video of it from High Voltage, I was really excited for that song.  And they removed Caught in a Web, which makes me sad.  So, this setlist is now a C, not a B.

My guess is that they'll eventually rotate Caught In A Web and Peruvian Skies back into the setlist on occasion (in place of, say, Forsaken and Endless Sacrifice?). I'm also guessing that Outcry and Breaking All Illusions might be switched in and out from one night to the next. Also, I could see them opening with Lost Not Forgotten instead of Brigges on occasion.

Under A Glass Moon as the encore.... I see that being changed on occasion as well. Here's what I'm thinking... If they play Outcry as the set closer, they'll eventually encore with LTL, and if they close with BAI, they'll encore with Metropolis. Or something like that.

Decent set as it is. I give it a B.

wilgod3p

I hope they change the set because they are a couple of songs I have seen not long ago in my city

orcus116

C. Some cool stuff, some not cool stuff. Nothing really too exciting but it's a bit different.

At the end of Fatal Tragedy, does/did JLB say 'Death is not the end... only a transition'?

Because that makes the song, and would put it up from a C to a B for me.

TAC

Forsaken, These Walls, & The Grear Debate are not my faves, but I've never seen any of them live, so I actually hane no problem with them.
I'm also fine with the drum solo for this tour. Ytse Jam looked so epic over the summer too.
I'm glad Fatal Tragedy is there. I haven't seen that since the Scenes tour.

No Breaking All Illusions is peculiar as is UAGM for the encore.
OTBOA (I expected that to be played) and BMUBMD are easily the weakest tracks on ADTOE to me.

I am so excited to see them. The accoustic thing was cool. Wish they could've squeezed in Far From Heaven or the JR/JLB version of Space Dye Vest into it.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Under a Glass Moon is not a closer.

My hope is that they switch btw Outcry and BAI, but actually hoped to have them both on the setlist.

Perfect closer BAI or LTL.

We're allowed to post videos of this, right?  This won't be officially released?  Well, here it is:

Is it me or did JP get lost?  It sounds like he lost the rhythm.... then, he starts tapping his foot.  Kind of rare for Petrucci!

This. the encore would be the most disappointing part of the show to me. I'd give it a C

SnakeEyes

Who's the jackass that keeps adding good quality TWENTY SECOND CLIPS of the show?  Upload the whole song, dumbass!

Mebert78

What!?  No "Breaking All Illusions"?   Geez.  I'm shocked.  To me, that's kinda unacceptable.  It's arguably the biggest, most anticipated song on the album (because of JM's lyrics) and the fan favorite now that the album has been released.  What would the reason be for its absence?  I hope they reconsider and add it.

Many great song, I love almost everything about this set, except the kind of weak encore, imo, BAI would have been alot, ALOT better! and they can take out forsaken and have like Peruvian Skies or Lost Not Forgotten. Then it would be an A

senecadawg2

Like others have said. I think its good. A solid B

My 3 problems with it:
1. Nothing from FII (Peruvian Skies or Trial of Tears could replace Forsaken or Endless Sacrifice)
2. No Breaking All Illusions (frankly, I was very surprised to see that this wasn't in the setlist)
3. I love UAGM, however... I think LtL or Metropolis work much better as encores.

Obviously this is all subject to change over time, and there are some things I really like about the setlist (back to back acoustic songs  :tup)
Quote from: LithoJazzoSphere on November 28, 2024, 04:50:14 PMThe senecadawg who won 11 roulettes is dead and gone.  He is now diogenesdawg2.

SnakeEyes

I don't know..... they did five songs from the new album.  Maybe they didn't want to overload everyone on the new music?

WildeSilas

I'm a little confused that there were no FII tunes, given that some of them have gotten short shrift in the past. I figured MP was the main ctiric of FII and we might see YNM, NM, LitS, Anna Lee, etc.
