...as i understand it i cant even talk about it?

It was officially released today in Australia so I will wait to hear back from the moderators as to wether I can comment or not!!

The Official release date as I understand it...is the official release date, not the US release date??

All I will say is after being a fan since 1996 is...AMAZING!

BlobVanDam

I believe we have to wait until the 12th or 13th before we are allowed to discuss it, as only us lucky few awesome countries get it this early. ;)

BlackInk

Hey, Bosk said October 1st. *giggles*

cookienut

Bought my copy today aswell from JB HIfi. Pity we can't talk about the awesomeness of this album. Oh well, as a teaser...it really is amazing...it gets better after more listens :).

Pretty much the only benefit living down under really.

tri.ad

Welp, I pre-ordered it today and hopefully, I can pick it up tomorrow. But good for you guys to have this pleasure even further in advance.

cookienut

I'd quite happily wait for the album release if I knew DT were coming down under again. I need to see them a third time...Grrrr. Just release some AU dates with te album already!!

Isn't it released in every single European country tomorrow? I believe that is a bit more than just a "few" awesome countries  :P

JP pretty much said Australia is on the cards for sometime next year in his latest interview.

Well, luckily for us every metal album is released in Norway as a very special "deluxe black metal edition". Can't wait to get "A Satanic Turn of Events" tomorrow  :metal  :P

I could never figure out why the Scandanavian folk love either black metal and really cheesy singing/dance bands.

Platekompaniet better send this in the mail today...If they don't I'm gonna kill someone tomorrow when I don't get my copy! My hopes are up, but there's always something special happening each time I pre-order stuff in general, which means everyone I know get things within release, and I'm a few days late. Even when it comes to the same product from the same store.

Me neither. I'm all funk, soul and prog. Can't stand BM or dance bands, two of the (well, probably the top 2) most silly and completely cheesy genres out there.

Tri.ad You're Austrian, tell me, are You sure you'll Your copy tomorrow? because here In poland release dates are just messing around with me, lot of stores said 12th, another 13th, only a few said 9th of September. I accuse that if You will get Your copy tomorrow I will also get one, we're close so it should be the same date ;)

The dance/country-bands i kind of agree on, but it sure is music that is great to dance to, to party to and it's a very happy genre. Even though i don't like it myself, i kind of get why it's so popular. We have these big dancing-festivals where all these bands come to play, and thousands of people get drunk and dance all night.

The black metal thing is probably bigger in countries like Germany and Italy. Even though most of the music is Scandinavian, i bet you most of the fans are from other countries. It's a big scene here too, off course, but in the Norwegian metal scene it's definitely the most profitable genre, and the genre where it's easiest to break through in foreign countries.

This has nothing to do with this thread though..

Couldn't disagree more about Black metal lol.

I wish I hadn't preordered the album online now, now I have to wait another few days at the least lol.

With my favorite bands (DT being one of them) i never download albums before they are released. I want to get the cd and read through the booklet while i listen to it for the first time.

Typically Scandinavian stores receive the stupid CD's on or after release date. Play.com already has it in stock, and the release date in the UK ain't until the 12th...That has happened many times before: the earlier the release date, the later the copies actually arrive.

JB are great for Roadrunner acts to have their records instore on the release date.  Most more popular mainstream bands they get new albums on the release date too.  They should have Opeth, Machine Head and Mastodon on the release dates too.  I got the new Edguy the day after release last week.  They are good with Nuclear Blast too.

JBHIFI, i knew they restock their shelves before the next day so i went into the city just before closing time and there is was in all its glory so i got the standard and special editions!!!

Let me say without giving you any new info that pro reviews have not already stated as before, this is easily the best thing since SFAM....by a long shot.

No more comment from me until the mods change their mind hehehe!!

I'm confused here, some stores here say 14th, some 13th, some 9th.

When will I get it if I ordered the Box thingy from Omega to Sweden?

Really? 14th? That's just wrong. Release dates should be the same globally. Five days later than Scandinavia, I guess you'll have to drive to Sweden to get it early...

This is the way I have seen it worded by mods as well.
So.
Wether you've had it since the 2nd, or are getting it tomorrow.
No discussing until the 13th.

?

In Finland all the new albums are always released on Wednesday so that's why we have to wait for almost a week... :sadpanda:

Me neither although some bands with black metal elements are good. But traditional black metal is just... ::) I don't think the cheesy singing/dance bands are popular in Finland, most of the music played on the radio here is in minor key.
