Will it be available for download the day of release? If so, do I have to pre-order it to do this?

Thanks in advance for the help!

It should be. I think it's up for Pre-order now.

So would it be safer to just get the album off here as opposed to ordering it from amazon or a music store? I just want this album as soon as possible lol. What ever gets the music quickest to my ears is what I want.

I've never understood the purpose of pre-ordering an album on iTunes. I mean, it's not a physical product, so what's the point?

It'll download immediately once it becomes available, which is sort of nifty, and which makes it unncecessary for you to hang around on iTunes refreshing the album's page (if you're that obsessed, of course). But I see your point. It's mostly a feature to more quickly pad Apple's pockets.

I can't speak for iTunes, but it's awesome to pre-order books for Kindle. You'll order a book in April, then you'll go about your business for a month or two or three, then one day you'll fire up your Kindle, and -- tada -- there it is. Happy happy joy joy. If iTunes could do that kind of thing, then a pre-order would make sense. The worst part is that I don't think Amazon's Cloud Player does this, even though Kindle does!

As already mentioned, it'll automatically download on your computer the day of release, but also now with iCloud it'll auto download on your iPhone, iPod, iPad, as well.

Sometimes when an album is released on iTunes there will be exlusive tracks which you can only obtain if you pre-order the album from iTunes. That's the only circumstance I can think of. Personally, I hate buying music off of iTunes.  :P
