It's always pleasant to see how great of role models Dream Theater can be for young aspiring musicians.

I hope this kid keeps playing more DT songs; he'll definitely need a bigger kit if he tries to play Stream of Consciousness  :P

for 8, that's awesome!!  Hope he  keeps it up!

He's eight!  EIGHT!!!

I feel like my life is a failure.  He's playing Dance of Eternity that young?  What have I done with my life that's remotely like that?  Nothing.

What do you mean??  You've got 8,189 posts on DTF!  You don't think that's an accomplishment?

Oh, yeah, actually I see your point.

I could point out the flaws of this, but you know what? Who cares. It's an 8 year old. Playing the Dance of fucking Eternity on drums. He had a pretty good understanding of the time sigs and patterns, even if his timing wasn't great, and he was on a tiny drumkit, especially compared to the MP monster kit. And he was doing DOUBLE KICKER. That was impressive.

If this was a 20 year old playing, I would think it's pretty bad. But it's an 8 year old. This kid has a lot of potential. He understands the drum beats. If he sticks to it and gets a more complete kit, this kid will get really good guaranteed.

AN EIGHT YEAR OLD SHOULDN'T HAVE THAT KIND OF OF RHYTHM, UNLESS HES A DESCENDENT OF PORTNOY

MAX IS THAT YOU?

This kid is on the drums playing one of the most complex songs imaginable....   :hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

We had to do that too, wish I started playing drums when i was at that age!

That was incredible for someone his age! When Mangini decides to take a 5 year hiatus, we'll use this kid as a replacement drummer, k?
