Dammit....Wide!!!!  Not wife. :lol
I'm sorry, but here on DTF, we do not accept spelling errors. Because of what you have done, you are forbidden to listen to ADTOE. I will contact DT's management immediately as to let them know you are banned from the album.

My DT cred outweighs you.  Maybe I'll call the Bear Phone Hotline.

Please dial 1-800-GTR-N00B

Will I get to talk to Steve Howe or Steve Hackett?

Nice one :lol

FlyingBIZKIT

I really enjoyed this one. Keep getting more excited for ADTOE!

Least favorite snippet so far.

Mine too. The first (heaviest) snippet was my favorite. I have always liked the heavier side of DT. Hope the album has plenty of rocking moments. Even OTBOA wasn't that great. To me anyway. I know that a snippet is just that, but so far, I don't see this touching Images and Words or SFAM. We will know in a few weeks.

Bridges In The Sky and Outcry as supposed to be the 'heavier' tracks as well as I heard a bit of Lost Not Forgotten is the same. I have a feeling this album is going to be extremely balanced. When I first got into DT, I was a fan of their heavier music and eventually just grew to love every side of the band. So pumped for this album.

It's so refreshing to hear DT play with reservation instead of just noodling to death. Every clip from the new album had been great and shows us this album has so much variety than anything since Awake or FII. Jordan's keyboard  sounds on this album have been great, not the same rehashed sounds as in the past. I'm really digging this!  Never have  I been so excited as when I first bought I&W in 1992.
wut? Six Degrees, Octavarium, and Systematic Chaos were all over the place in style.

GasparXR

^ I agree that 6DOIT and 8V are varied, but not so much SC. Maybe just with Repentance.

bosk1

You all have been told repeatedly that the Outcry clip is fake.  Next person to post a fake clip gets banned until album release.

In my defense I was joking around with ResultsMayVary...

Daso

Rudess is wrong. That is an Outcry snippet! I mean, how could he even know if it is or isn't?  ::)

wammabe

Does anyone else here find it awesome when Bosk warns people?  :metal

I don't think SC is that varied. But still, from what I've heard, this album seems like it'll be extremely varied, containing both, modern DT and past DT aspects.  ;D

Let's just say, This might end up being my favorite DT album of all time.

This.

tofee35

wow...really like it. I like how it's pretty but at the same time a little twisted like misunderstood or disappear

Especially Disappear. :P That's such an awesome song.

And I agree, this just might be an awesome album.

axeman90210

really enjoyed this clip as well, and now it's got me going back and revisiting older DT ballads :D

The Silent Cody

It could be one of my favorites ballads from DT, there isn't so many of them, because I think this is not the best side of this band, but This Is The Life seems to be really small masterpiece.

Shahar

#155

As for the snippet itself - it sounds good, quite different than the previous ballads.

Metabog

Sounds like Arjen Lucassen had a guest spot on this album.  ;D

This song is likely to be about space ships.

this is the snippet where i go  :omg: i dont like it... it's very very meh.
the keyboard sounds like another Ipad app. the guitar , dire straits thing is cool, but overall ...i dont find any flow in the snippet, it's just very unforward... ofcourse it's just a snippet...but this minute of DT didn't do anyting positive for me.

Ħ

individual song snippets > one long mashup snippet

Blackfield

The Petrucci and Rudess noodling is like the best thing I've heard from them in a long time.

Sorry but what? :lol I could find similar clips from all their previous albums that indicate just as much variety.

The Presence of Frenemies

As a metalhead, I was wary of the fact that 1/3 of the tracks on this album are full-on ballads, but after hearing the BTS snippet and this, I feel much less worried that the album's not going to have enough great moments. After all, DT's shown before that they don't have to be in metal mode to produce some epic moments (all of LTL, end of Octavarium and TBOT and TSCO, parts of AD and TMOLS, etc.). The BTS and TitL snippets seem to indicate excellent song construction already. On top of that, reviews (and I think JP himself?) said there's some sort of monster solo in TitL (maybe a TBOT/8V-type thing, I hope), and BTS sounds like it's going to be really graceful. Add in that FFH supposedly leads into the epicness of BAI, and all of the softer tracks are immediately legitimized, even to those of us who want more TOT/SC-style stuff.

Oh, come on ;) Don't You feel like You would want to relax with that track or something? it brings so many relaxing feelings for me..

indeed - if you took snippets from Octavarium or BC&SL we'd all be like: "omgz this is going to be their best album yet". I've been loving the snippets so far but i'm not going to go ahead and say that this is going to be their best album yet until i hear the full songs

Bingo. Definitely promising though!

had this tiny snippet on repeat for the last half an hour or so  :tup wasn't completely sure of JR's lead at first but as with most DT songs, after quite a few listens you realise that the lead is PERFECT with the JP's clean tones.

dbrooks22

It's too loud.  I don't like it.

Adjust your volume levels, there are numbers below 11.

Connoc

I like it, I like it a lot!

I'm slightly nervous though--when JLB comes back in around 46 seconds, the autotune is massively obvious. It pulls me out of the music to hear those robotic slips and slides "Someone EEEEEEElse" "Traded Plaaaaaaces"

Grr. I hope it's either more subtle on the final product...in the unlikely event that we aren't listening to the final product already, or at the very least it isn't as obvious throughout the album

Psy

Are you sure that it's auto-tunage and just double tracked vocals?

Ben_Jamin

His vocals remind me of Coming Home.

On what basis do you say those parts are autotune? I don't notice anything particular/different in the way his voice sounds. But then, I have little knowledge of those things...

I'm an audio engineer, I know what autotune sounds like.
