As members of this community, it is easy to take for granted how much information about the band is put out there for us.  There are lots of more casual fans, or fans who just aren't into the Internet, who may or may not know the latest news.  Although the word about the new album is out, one thing each of us can do is spread the word on every other message board we are members of.  Specifically, let people know that Roadrunner has a link to pre-order the album in each of its 4 release formats:  https://store.roadrunnerrecords.com/dvds?search=a+dramatic+turn+of+events

Thanks.

Somebody should get Petrucci's forum.  I bet they'd be interested.

Good idea, bosk.  This is gonna be DT's biggest selling album yet.  I have a feeling.

Just checked and there is already a thread.

I hate to be a pusher, but if my friends don't buy this album, then they're getting it for their Birthdays/Christmas.

What does the +$2 special edition CD get you vs. the regular CD?

The DVD with the drummer documentary.

skydivingninja

Looks like I'll just be buying the regular CD.  Not worth getting the documentary on DVD, and I don't like buying vinyl of modern albums unless the album has the kind of "sound" that would sound better with vinyl.  I dunno, its hard to explain.  And I don't really go for special editions of new albums.  If I don't like it, then I'm out $100 and that's just not a risk I'm comfortable with.

Of course if this turns out to be the best album since 6DoiT I'll be kicking myself, but my wallet will thank me.

I actually think the special edition would be better if it came with the Instrumental CD instead of the DVD.

Yeah I could care less about the DVD it doesn't sound like anything new.  I would much rather have the instrumental CD.  If they only offer Album + DVD and Deluxe version, then I'm just going to buy the standard edition and use other methods to acquire the instrumental CD...

I plugged the pre-order on facebook. Plus I have friends just getting into DT and they've already pre-ordered their copies. Just regular editions, though, but it's a start!

ricky

Well, I already pre-ordered 4 copies, so I guess I am already helping out.

I totally agree, can't we just watch the documentary on youtube? Unless they take it down or something.
