Three of those guys are in a Brazilian band called Bad Salad. They do create their own thing.

Check out Nemesis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3uYYdJ1MSY

If they had a better band name people would take them a little more seriously for sure. Very good band but they do listen to far too much DT.

I liked this cover instrumentally. The vocalist wasn't right for this one though. He was fine on Constant Motion but that requires a different vocal style altogether.

Psy

I'm blown away by how close this sounds to the actual record. :o

Zydar

The song was released barely two weeks ago and there is already a cover rehearsed and recorded.

Talented guys who are way too obsessed with Dream Theater.

Thank God somebody said it at last.

I mean, obviously, they're talented, but why the heck do they have to be so much obsessed with doing DT covers and stuff when they can make amazing shit happen with their pro equipment? Such an expensive hobby if you ask me.

The cover is top-notch of course.

Sixtease

I think it makes perfect sense for them to make Dream Theater covers. It gets promoted by blabbermouth, even DT themselves. If they only played original stuff, would we know about them?

And I found the vocals pretty good. Perfectly clean. Prefer JLB on this by far but this guy still nailed it.

I LOVE making covers of stuff myself, it's a whole lot of fun. Sometimes I don't have any musical ideas to be working on, but still want to record and mix something. I've only been doing like three full covers though, and only one from DT (AROP - my guitar skills are highly limited, and that's the only one I could possibly do alone), but still. It's very entertaining, just playing and recording something you like.

RaiseTheKnife

Hey, play the music you love-- whether it be your own or another's.  That's all that matters.  Wow, these guys rock the song!

Interesting to hear the song in a different mix, more guitar and bass up front.  Heard some new elements of the song that I did not pick up in the DT you tube version.

They could have used the dude from the Metropolis split screen cover on vocals. He was pretty awesome...

There's no point.  There's a time and place for vocal craziness and this song isn't one of those times.

There's nothing in BoA that requires any over-the-top vocals.  The entire composition isn't meant to "show off" anything, it's just a solid song and an easy taste of something new from DT.
Hey, I'm fully aware of that. I didn't mention the guy because the song needs vocal craziness, over-the-top vocals or any showing off. Metropolis has its mellower parts, and the vocalist does a great job on those as well.

I just noticed that some mentioned that they weren't too stoked about the vocalist, so I just proposed an alternative.

:chill

In The Name Of Rudess

Amazing!

The keyboard player's hands are tiny, those arpeggio runs in the piano solo must have been pretty difficult for him. He was great though.

Sixtease

Yeah, that guy made my jaw drop. Being a Korean, he probably grew up playing Starcraft, so his fingers got quick :-D

My friends think this is fake. Any thoughts?

Implode

It's not? Why would someone fake a cover?

That's what I said! I was saying that they're very talented people and that we shouldn't take anything away from them, but they're saying that since the song has been out for two weeks, there is no way they can get it to sound that good. I wanna delete my last post, lol

chrisbDTM

where would they get the instrumental tracks to fake over?

it looks like they recorded it first then shot the videos after, that must be why your friends think its fake.

It is amazing, but it's nowhere near impossible. It's not that hard to believe that they are just very talented.
