I would be pissed off as well.

I'm just glad I live within 3 hours of any major venue in Southern California... minus San Diego... but who ever plays San Diego without coming up to Los Angeles?

Communists. That's who.

You could say the same about a band that goes to Dallas but not Houston. They're 5 hours from each other  :(

JayOctavarium

Well... don't they say everything is bigger in Texas? That includes commute length...

bluehaze1933

Does anybody know who their tour promoter is and how to contact them?

That all depends on where you're situated

So, a 2nd show has been just announced in Argentina. I was wondering how much can the setlist change between both shows?

Zero change in the setlist.

Oh no, if they're playing two nights in a row, I'd get my hopes up.

At least Pull Me Under, a cover, a special guest, album anniversary, something.

I think we can safely say that we can call this the "everybody can come along for the ride but the South" tour. Hoorah!!!
Your past 15+ posts have been DT-not-coming-to-the-south-of-the-US-and-that-breaks-me-related.

Just pointing that out.

You are right. Sorry for my bitterness..Congrats to South Korea and all of those that are fortunate enough to see them do their Evening with....show. My question is still out there as to who to contact regarding bringing them here. How do I contact the promoters down here???

I do feel for ya man, especially after JL had made promises on stage that they'd be returning early next year. In any case, I gotta admit that your last post (before it was edited) made me laugh, even if it was sarcastic.  ;)

To answer your question, there's two people you should try to contact:
Frank Solomon, the band's manager
Steve Martin, the band's North American booking agent (he works for The Agency Group)
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Thanks Scotty,. I went on to The Agency Group's web page and couldn't find a Steve Martin in any of their offices and I didn't see Dream Theater listed as one of the bands they work with. I called them and found out they are being represented by a group called APA in North America and I was given their phone number. I called them and found the Steve Martin you mentioned. I left a voice mail and expressed how disappointed we all were here in the South that they were not bringing their tour here and to see if there was any way Dream Theater could add two weeks to their tour to include some cities in Florida, Texas and Georgia. I mentioned in my message that I was willing to drive the state to see them (I live in Homestead south of Miami) if I thought they would be doing an Evening with... show as I have done it before for their shows with other acts. I left my cell phone number and asked him to call me back... We'll see if anything comes of it and I will post something when I hear from him. Thank you so much for your info.

JayOctavarium

Good luck.

That would be pretty :metal: if you actually get a response

. . . more checking around and it looks like DT didn't leave the Agency Group (Good thing too because their website is waaaay better than APA)

https://www.theagencygroup.com/artist/dream-theater/

On this page it gives you links for booking - says London but it's a contact.  Neil Warnock.  If the US is handled by someone else, he should know who that is.

bluehaze1933

On the page it says "excluding the USA." No word yet from Mr. Martin at APA.

Holy shit, JP is sporting his biggest beard so far. That's enormous.  :omg:

Look at this :P

?

According to setlist.fm they had to skip BAI in Santiago due to some technical problems - hopefully the rest of the South American fans will get the full show.

Awesome shot with them with the crowd.  The crowd looks really meaty, sizable.

Alright, this next show is the only one on the tour that is at the same venue two nights in a row, right? I understand they tweeted that the second show was added due to popular demand, but am I the only one who'd say that with everything in consideration there is at least some chance of a small setlist change for this show?

DT has never played the same set at the same venue two nights in a row- even on the leg of ADTOE where there was an otherwise static setlist. They added To Live Forever, Paradigm Shift, and 21st Century Schizoid Man.

I'm hoping for a possible Pull Me Under or something from WDADU since that never got its 25 year anniversary spot.

Well JR did post a video last week on Facebook of him playing part of The Glass Prison  ;D I'm still not convinced though, with the way they've set up their show.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

TheAtliator

Actually that was Shattered Fortress, not Glass Prison. But again, don't take this as a prediction, all I'm saying is that I think there is a definite chance.

BlobVanDam

I think you're being a little too hopeful there. I'd be very surprised if they deviate. It would be a pleasant surprise to be wrong about that though (pleasant surprise to get a different setlist, not a pleasant surprise to be wrong. I'm used to that. :lol )

?

I'd be shocked if there were any changes. They played in Paris twice this year and the setlist was the same for both shows. Who knows, they may throw in PMU since this is a two-night stand, but I'm not expecting anything special.
