Clearly the setlist can't be true, else they'd still be playing, and I know they are not since I am waiting for them to come out and sign autograph.

Same setlist as always, people.

Well maybe you're waiting for them to finish the concert to come out and sign an autograph :P

I really doubted it anyway. I don't expect to see any setlist changes this tour, since JR confirmed it won't reach into 2015.

cramx3

Yea I was very sceptical of that but hoping for it to be true.

Is the first post in this thread ever going to be updated?? :yarr

cyberdrummer

Yep, just waiting for the end of this leg, then I'll change it all in one go.

2Timer

I really thought they would change it up a little for the second leg...

I live in Brasília/Brazil and today the "Correio Braziliense" (the most important newspaper in my city, with a lot of credibility) announced the DT show here on october 7. :tup :metal

Fuck yeah  :tup  First tour in 5 years for us and at a quality venue this time too .

Prices from $110-$200 per ticket though.  Yikes.

Ouch!  Not to be entirely unexpected though.

Yeah............they're only doing two gigs for the whole country and it's a great venue , so the costs for them are no doubt high.  Still.............I barely paid that for Van Halen , Aerosmith and half a dozen other good bands on the same day  ;D

I'm stoked anyway ,so I'll just have to cough up.

Shame for wolfie that they're not doing Brisbane - he might have to pay me a visit.

bluehaze1933

Does anybody on here still believe that Dream Theater will do a second leg of the Evening with...tour to include Florida and Texas and elsewhere in the South? It was mentioned earlier that JL said the tour won't be going into 2015. I'm hugely disappointed.

Grizz

I think Jordan or Mike said something to the contrary and James has said a lot of wonky shit recently.

Is it a different venue to last time there? The previous times they played in Sydney, they played the Horden Pavillion (never seen any other band there), and this time they're playing the slightly smaller Big Top (funnily enough, at our Luna Park!), which is a pretty similar venue but a bit better, and the one time I saw another band there (Opeth), the sound was the best of any show I've seen.
The ticket prices only had two tiers, seated or standing (about $115 and $125 iirc), which wasn't a bad price. I don't know what the ticket prices are this time, but ticket prices have gone up a lot since then for other bands.

wasteland

115$ Australian Dollars is about twice the 40€ ticket price we got this summer in Italy. In winter it was 45€/58€ (balcony).

Imagine if the exchange rate was indeed a function of the amount to convert (maybe logarithmic!)  :lol

I just checked and they did play the same venue in 2009 - I missed that as I was away.  I last saw them in 2008 at Festival Hall which was pretty crappy as a venue.  The Palais Theater is a fantastic venue , usually with great sound , so I'm very positive about that side of things. Come to think of it I saw JP there with G3 many years ago .

Chances are the seats I want/need will be up around the $200 mark which will be hard on the wallet.

My sister is going to be rotten about it when I tell her she's unlikely to hear anything from Images and Words.  Hopefully they may throw something in seeing as it's been 4 or 5 years.

I wouldn't count on it. It wouldn't be worth it for them to change it up just for a couple of shows. Speaking of which, I wonder if we'll get the full tour production? We got the full setup in 2008, but in 2009 they had to scale back to their B-rigs. Given that they've have to cut it down to just two shows, that might be the case again.
I get the feeling that they really wanted to do some Australia shows this time, and had to cut things back so they could do them for us. It's unfortunate that a lot of cities miss out this time, but it's better than nothing.

There will be NO second USA leg on this tour!!! James just confirmed in this interview that after Asia he will be joining the Metal All Stars and than he will be doing his solo album. THIS BALLS OUT SUCKS!!!! Dream theater blew off the whole Southern half of the United States.  Florida never gets an Evening with... show. They can play everywhere else but they can't spare a week and a half to play Florida or Georgia or Texas. Bullshit bullshit bullshit. I won't be paying another dime to see another one of their multi-act shows where they play for only 80 medley-filled minutes.  https://www.ladyobscure.com/portfolio/lady-obscure-with-james-labrie/

GentlemanofDread

So, what if their next tour is another evening with, will you go see it then?

bluehaze1933

That is the only kind of show I will pay to see, but history shows it isn't going to happen.  I've paid for more than enough multi-act shows down here and they are lame medley filled shows. Eighty minute shows are NOT worth $60 or more....It is amazing to me that they couldn't fit in a couple of weeks for the Southern half of the USA...If he can do a tour with a bunch of so-called metal Allstars and a solo album and do two legs for Europe he can fit in Florida and Georgia and Texas with DT. I am hugely disappointed...today is a terrible day.

It's mostly a promoter thing, not a DT thing. Stop crying.

Whatever dude. I'll feel and say what I want to say. DT is so independent when it comes to recording their cd's but when it comes to touring they have no say? I don't buy that crap anymore. DT's tour promoter sucks.

I would be pissed off as well.

I'm just glad I live within 3 hours of any major venue in Southern California... minus San Diego... but who ever plays San Diego without coming up to Los Angeles?

Communists. That's who.

bluehaze1933

Jay, the communist comment put a smile on my face. That was funny. Thanks. Life goes on.
