Listening to ADTOE singles/samples before official relase

I hope they have a song short enough they don't have to edit it. I think AROP's video came out before the album? I'm pretty sure it did, because I got BCSL on the day it came out. I could tell that the editing in AROP in the video was choppy at best. I'll still pick up a single when it lands, however.

I did start to listen to TDEN when it leaked, but the quality was so bad I said "screw it." Like 2 days later, they released the video on YouTube.

yea if they had the full JP solo in the edit then i would listen to that over the CD version every time

It's not that I didn't like the edit. I could just tell it was edited. Had the "yeah, I'm missing some song here" feel to it.

I really don't want to listen to it. I didn't listen to AROP and it was great that way but this time I must listen to it sooner or later before album release cause DT will play it on the tour... So I will probably give it one or two listens before the concert.

BTW I still didn't listen to anything from Linoleum EP and I'm patiently waiting for Road Salt Two and that's a looot of time since EP release so I really don't have any problem with my will

I think that singles never represent the content in the album very well. Usually, the singles are my least favorite songs. I want my first impression of the album to be orgasmic, usually the first track of a Dream Theater album does this very well. I HOPE I don't listen to any singles, but it might be inevitable.

I wouldn't be able to help myself. If there's singles or samples out there, I simply must listen to them. I couldn't wait to listen to the album as a whole when tracks would be out there and so easily accessible. Luckily, I don't give a crap about listening to the album as a whole first anyway so it doesn't bother me that I hear bits of it before the complete product.

We are not encouragers of the leaks here.  We do not support, condone, or endorse it in any way, shape, or form.  So best just not to discuss them at all.

I'd clarify that that's in regards to DT primarily. I agree that no download links should ever be posted for other bands, but discussion of their leaked material is mostly harmless. but as a DT fansite I can see why it would be inappropriate to discuss unofficially released ADTOE stuff if and when it comes out.
