Are you going to listen to any single before ADTOE is released?

Yes
No
I will see

perfey

I'm not going to listen to any official samples or singles before the album is released and I have it in my hand, like I did with BC&SL, all for the total album experience and freshness of a new (DT!) album.

How about you? Going to listen to the single(s) or samples as they are released? Or avoid it until you have the album in your hands?

lodeus

Ill listen to official releases. Like singles and samples.

Zydar

Yes I will listen to singles and samples. That's how I roll.

Sixtease

I'll listen to anything and everything that I think has the slightest chance of being new DT material the very moment I get my hands on it.

bosk1

Part of me would really like to wait.  However, to properly mod the forum and keep tabs on stuff people will inevitably claim to be early-released material, leaks, etc., I have to listen in advance.  Unfortunately, that's how I have to roll.

SnakeEyes

Yes, I will.  I heard Pull Me Under before I heard the rest of the album, so there's no difference here.

ricky

i told myself i wouldn't, but if a single does come out i know i will.

No, dude, I have an idea. Just make me the admin for awhile and take a break. Just kick your feet up and enjoy this album the way you want to. I've got this

Nighthawkwill7

I would rather wait, but I doubt I will be able to.

My guess is that I probably will listen to any new stuff as soon as it's released (regarding singles and stuff), but I'm not 100% sure about it yet.

Global Laziness

I'd love to be able to hear the whole album new and fresh, but I doubt I'll be able to resist listening to the single when it comes out.

I just tried and it didn't work.  Every time I tried changing your user status to "admin," my screen went completely blank except for the word "FAIL" in big, red block letters.

I always check out the samples and play the single a million times to the point I don't listen to it when the album comes out.

This happened for me with AROP.

Considering the single for SC and BC&SL both sucked and was no reflection of the album as a whole, I won't feel bad about listening to this single, it won't be like I'm spoiling myself. I'm not expectating anything great from it, but it'll be fun just to hear something new before we get the great material from the record.

pc is nick?

emindead

I am. I will try to avoid reading comments before listening to the single.

I will see

The last two albums I have waited until I got the album in my hands to listen to anything but now I am considering listening to the single when it is released as I want to hear the new DT dynamic. They also wrote 9 songs so there is still 8 more songs to be excited about :)

Considering the single for SC and BC&SL both sucked

Now that you've clearly demonstrated what is NOT an example of constructive criticism, I strongly suggest you take a quick refresher on the forum rules and refrain from those kinds of posts in the future.

Yeah, that was a bit of a problem with Black Clouds. I heard the single before the album came out, so I only had five new songs to spin when the album was officially released.

Tunnel Vision

I would prefer to listen to the entire album with a fresh mindset, but I know that if they do release a single I'm gonna play it about 30 times before the album comes out! :D

manticore999

Maybe not before the official release, but I intend to somehow listen to the whole album before I buy it.  I really didn't care for their last few releases and don't want to waste any more money on stuff I'll never listen to.

I listen to everything what might be the new dt in whatever qualtiy and from any source

Metrovarium

I'll listen to it one single time (or maybe twice, if I can't resist  :P), then wait until the album is released. That way, I don't ruin the song for myself like I usually do by listening to singles waaaay too many times before the album is released, and I still get to hear the new DT sound. Plus, I'll probably have forgotten some of the song by the time the album is released, assuming that we'll get the single ~2 months in advance.

That's not what was being asked, and one more post like that will earn you a permanent vacation.  I would suggest you read Rule #2 and get to know it well.

krands85

I'll listen to any single that's released, but it would probably be better if I didn't. Though if for some reason they made more than 1 track available before the rest of the album, I probably wouldn't listen to either of them. With Symphony X's new album, they released Dehumanized and the End of Innoncence first. I always played Dehumanized and then The End of Innoncence straight after. On the album, The End of Innocence is track 2 and Dehumanized is track 3, so it sounds a bit weird to me, like they're backwards or something :D

I used to listen to album samples (eg. iTunes samples) before albums came out, but I refrained from listening to the SX samples this time and think I'd probably avoid DT ones too if they happened to be released.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

ariich

When a single is released, of course I will listen to it!

As for samples, I'm not sure. Hearing a 20-second clip out of context is usually pretty meaningless, so I think I probably won't bother with that.
